Natomas Dental Care, Dental Practice of Maricarl B. Ramos, DDS Reviews (4)

Dr. Ramos is kind and professional. during procedure she kept asking if I felt comfortable. She is puctual, extremely knowledgeable. Office staff is friendly and courteous. Office is clean and updated.

I am extremelty happy with this dentist and all the staff at this office. They were not only very friendly but they were both knowledgable & professional. I had to find a new dentist and was referred to this one by my friend/co worker. My first visit was a long one -but they took care of what I needed, explained everything upfront and checked with me constantly throughout the procedures. I am going to bring my family back here as well. I am very happy to have found this dentist.

Review: My bridge fell off & I had Natomas Dental Care glue it back to my teeth only for the bridge to fall off again & needed re-gluing 2 other times.

I went to Natomas Dental Care to have them glue my bridge that had fallen out back into place. I was charged $150 for the service. A few months later my bridge fell out again. I went back to Natomas Dental Care and they re-glued my bridge. Within months my bridge fell out yet again so I went to Natomas Dental Care once more and discussed with the dentist about how my bridge keeps falling out only after a few months. A bridge should not only last months, it should last several years. The dentist informed me that there will be another charge if I were to have her re-glue my bridge. I told the dentist that I was not going to pay again for something that should have been done correctly the first time. The dentist said that she wanted to take a look at my bridge to see what she could do for me. She had her staff take two x-rays of my bridge and afterwards her staff sat me down in a dental chair so the dentist could take a look at my bridge herself. Before the dentist came to look at my bridge she sent her dental assistant to tell me that before she would go ahead and take a look at it, like she told me she would, I would have to pay $160. The dentist never mentioned to me that I would have to pay any fee or amount prior to them taking the x-rays or sitting me in the dental chair when we had discussed the situation and when I had told her that I was not paying. I made it clear before they did anything that I was not paying when she also said to me that she wanted to look at my teeth and see what she could do. The dentist steered me wrong and was very misleading. I told the dental assistant that I was not paying which I had already told the dentist. Shortly thereafter the dentist herself came out raising her voice toward me in front of her staff and other patients calling me a liar and denied what we had already discussed prior. She told me that I have to pay and I told her again that I am not paying and that I am not the one who is lying and that she is. She yelled at me in front of everyone there and said that now I would have to pay for the office visit and the two x-rays taken then told me to get out and not to bring my family there again. This issue is between her and I, not between her and my family,. though there was another prior incident to this one involving my young daughter, but that is another thing. The dentist was very unprofessional and rude to me in front of others which was embarrassing and degrading and not only that but does not look good for her practice. I am 57 years old and did not deserve to be treated in that manner when all I wanted them to do in the first place was to fix my bridge which they did not glue correctly in the first place. No one has treated me in such a disrespectful way before and I was shocked that out of all people a dentist who deals daily with the public as a licensed professional would treat someone in that manner.Desired Settlement: First, I am requesting an apology letter from the dentist herself at Natomas Dental Care to my family and I for treating us in an unprofessional, embarrassing, and slanderous way.

Second, I am requesting a full refund of what I paid to Natomas Dental Care for their unsatisfactory and unprofessional job on my bridge.

If my requests are not met then I have no other choice then to consult with a lawyer and take the next step.

Thank You.

Business' Initial Response

First, I want to apologize for the late response. I was out of the country and just read the letter when I returned to work on July 11.

Second, there are several inaccuracies in Mr. [redacted]'s complaint which I would like to address.

Mr. [redacted]'s first dental appointment at our office was May 26, 2011. He had a dental bridge that was done by another dental office that had fallen out. I provided Mr. [redacted] with my treatment recommendations for a new dental bridge however, he declined replacement and indicated that he would replace the dental bridge in his country. The patient was charged $129 for the visit which included x-rays, exam and recementation of the bridge. He wasn't charged $150 as the patient stated. I can secure a copy of receipt upon request.

the patient came back for the second time on June 19, 2013 because the bridge fell out again. Xrays were taken as a standard procedure. When my receptionist informed him of the cost of recementation, he became unhappy. We informed him that it was recemented last May 26, 2011, not few months ago as he claimed. We have records and treatment notes to prove it. Furthermore, he was not charged for this visit even though we took x-rays.

It is our office philosophy to provide excellent treatment to be to all our patients and to be professional in the handling of all of our patient issues. I feel that we approached Mr. [redacted]'s situation with this philosophy in mind and provided him with treatment well within the standard of care.

Given the above information, I do not believe that there is any refund due to Mr. [redacted] nor would there be any basis for an apology letter.
