Review: National Arbitration has been using unethical tactics in order to collect a debt that my son owes. My son has asked in October 2013 to send a bill showing the amount owed and the creditor. They decline to do so, instead they tried harassment tactics. A phone message was on my home phone on 01/07/14 stating that a [redacted] is a legal courier and was going to serve some type of legal documents to my son on 01/08/14 to his home or his work. On 01/08/14, on my work phone I had the same message left at my work not my son's. On 01/09/14, I tried calling the number between 10am-11am and there was just an automated answering service, I did not leave a message. Between 1-2pm later that day, I get a call from the "legal courier" [redacted]. He states that he will be coming to my work to serve me my son's documents. I told him that I had nothing to do with that matter and not to call my work number and I hung up. He called within minutes to speak with me again. He was irate and said I HAD to sign for these papers or else he will embarrass me in front of my employers. I told him I don't and will not sign for anything. I asked for the number to contact the individual or group who's responsible. He gave me the same number that was left on his message. I called the number. When I asked the person (which he did not identify himself) about how they got my name and work number they "didn't know". He indicated that their lawyer [redacted] is out of the office presently and to call back. I told them I'd call after five from my home. At 5pm, I called and spoke with [redacted], he told me that he is not an attorney, just a office manager. I asked him about why I was contacted, why they called my work phone number and threaten me. His excuse is that that there was another fact finding company who gathered this information, but he went on to say that they did not hire this company to do this. Needless to say, this harassment and theatrics was to collect a debt in a FRUADULENT way.Desired Settlement: This issue has not been resolved because [redacted] says he will do whatever it takes to collect, other than sending a statement with payment options. My son spoke with this company several times since October 2013 and his conversations with this individual only lead to threats, not a resolution. It is fair to say that National Arbitration believes that they are ABOVE the law and think they can violate peoples rights.
