Review: deceptive cancelation practice

One week after being assured by phone that my account was canceled, the company took $78.41 from my checking accout. I immediatly called them & was told that I had been told earlier (on

Feb. 4th) to call them before Feb. 18th & ask for a "return merchandise authorization number". I did call them before that date but, being assured that my account had been cancelled, did not ask for the "return merchandise authoriation number".

By not speaking those words, they felt authorized to take that money from my account, even though they knew that I did not want any more. I believe

that this was totally deceptive. (When I called them before Feb. 18th, I was answered by a computer which assured me that my account had been cancelled but did not give me the ability to say anything to them. When calling, there computer told me to press "1" if I wanted to cancel my account & "2" for anything else. So I naturally pessed "1". --A mistake.)Desired Settlement: If a new bottle is sent to me, I would like to return it and get my money back. But I would prefer to just get my money back without even getting another bottle. (They've known since Feb. 4th that I don't want it.)

RE:

Dear [redacted]:

Natural Body Scape, LLC,

with a mailing address of [redacted], (the

“Company” or “we”) received your inquiry dated February 27, 2013 regarding a

complaint made by [redacted]l (the “Customer”) concerning the Customer’s

order of GreenTea FIT. We appreciate the

opportunity to respond to the Customer’s concerns. We have processed a credit in the amount of $86.36

(incl. s/h) to the card that the Customer provided when placing the order.

Our records indicate that,

on February 3, 2013, the Customer enrolled through the Company’s web site in a 15-day

trial offer of GreenTea FIT for a $7.95 trial, shipping and handling fee and

enrollment in our monthly home delivery program. According to the terms posted on the

enrollment page and in the detailed “Terms of Offer” on the web site, if the

Customer did not like the product during the trial period, he could obtain a

Return Merchandise Authorization (“RMA”) number from the Company before the end

of the 15-day trial and return the product to avoid further charges. When the Customer did not request an RMA

number by the end of the 15-day trial period, the Company charged the

Customer’s card $78.41 for the cost of the trial product. The Customer called the Company on February 4,

2013, at which time we cancelled his membership in the home delivery program.

As a matter of customer

service, on February 28, 2013, the Company refunded a total of $86.36 to the

credit card that the Customer provided at sign-up to cover the $78.41 cost of

the product and the $7.95 charge.

Thank you for bringing this

matter to our attention. We trust that

this response addresses your inquiry.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Thank you for your help regarding my account with Green Tea FIT.

They have returned the money which they had taken from my checking account.

I acknowledge there prompt response.

And I would like to add that I was not searching for any weight loss pill, but was on my laptop only to upload my documents & files to a free computer backup company prior to letting to computer repair specialist work on it. In the process of getting there website, an ad popped up offering the chance to win a new laptop. But to do so, I had to join 3 survay companies which, in turn, required me to order something from 3 of the many firms listed. My finances are very tight right now, so I looked for something cheep or free. The Green Tea FIT ad offered some diet pills for only $2 so I ordered it. I was surprised the next day to see that over $7 had been taken from my checking account. In my hurry to get through the "survays" & get on with my computer problems, I guess I missed some details. So I called them right away & they told me that my account was canceled (although the order were on the way) and that I should still call them again before the 18th and ask for a "Return Merchandise Authorization Number", without mentioning the charge of $78.41 if I failed to ask for that number. In fact, I never read, or even heard, that cost until I say it as a withdrawal from my account a week later. I would never think of spending even $10 for such pills, much less the amount they were charging. When I say such a huge withdrawal, I thought they must be sending me another bottle anyway. I thought that the first bottle was already payed for at the cheeper introductory price. And, as I mentioned in first email, in clinking the number to "cancel" when calling the company, you are not given the opportunity to say anything. How could I have asked for an "Authorization Number"?

Anyway, they did return my money & I'll remember that the prices that companies use to get new customers are nothing but sales gimmicks & mean nothing at all..
