Poorly aligned undermount sink in marble vanity top.At the end of September 2015, I ordered a marble vanity countertop with an undermount sink. Item was fabricated and but sink was mounted on the marble with overflow drain out of alignment with center of sink indicating that sink was skewed in the hole cut out. Plumber noticed it was not centered and I returned with the item to the warehouse on October 3, 2015. Mr. [redacted], owner of business, agreed it was off center and said he "had a new guy working" and that he would have the problem corrected. On October 5th I returned to pick up the vanity top with sink. It still appeared skewed and I mentioned this. Mr. [redacted] said he had reset it and that it was fine. I took the piece home and plumber said it was not aligned correctly. I returned with the item again on October 6th and explained and showed Mr. [redacted] how it was not aligned properly. He disagreed. He said all of his sinks are that way and "that it will work fine and I wouldn't be able to see the overflow hole anyway." I explained I had not paid for an unaligned sink. Mr. [redacted] looked at the sink I was returning to be reset in the back of my car and said, "I've had it. Leave now and don't come back. You are wasting my time." I left. I returned to the house where the renovation is being done and met my contractor. I asked him to look at the sink to see if the plumber and I were making a bigger deal out of this than necessary. He said "No, the sink is turned off center." He stopped the work he was doing, disassembled the sink from the marble, turned it so that it was aligned, and reglued it and remounted the bolts. All of this took place so that a plumbing inspection that had been delayed for 3 days now could take place. I am appalled at the way I was treated by Mr. [redacted], the poor workmanship, and lack of customer service.Desired SettlementI would like reimbursement for the cost of remounting the sink correctly.Business Response /[redacted]/I'm sorry Mrs.[redacted] feels that I gave her lack of customer service when she came in,I did adjusted her sink 1/8 to the left,but that was not her complain,it was that the water flow hole and sink hole didn't line up,I told her this is how the sink comes from manufacture I also brought out another sink to show her this is how it was made,I also tried telling her that once her top was place on base she would not see water flow hole,I have sold this sink for several years and this is first complain of holes not lining up,once again I'm sorry Mrs.[redacted] was not happy,but there was no defect to top or sink.Therfore I don't feel I should reimburst for remounting.Consumer Response /[redacted]/The alignment was clearly and noticeably crooked. My plumber can attest to this as can my contractor who reset the sink so that it was correctly aligned. I can provide contact information for each of these professionals. Me [redacted] was rude and frightening to me. He told me to "leave and not return to his property." In addition, the marble top has chips and cracks that were repaired with some sort of filler that neither matches nor fully filled the crack. I have photographs to document.I am asking for the cost of resetting the sink by my contractor (which was completely do-able) to be reimbursed.I am a 69 year old woman who was verbally assaulted by the owner. I was shaking when I left the property. No one should be treated this way.It was my plumber who called to my attention that the sink was incorrectly mounted (crooked). I have reported everything that happened. I have photographs of the poorly filled cracks. I did not call those to his attention because I did not see them until the marble slab was removed from my car. I have the statement from my contractor stating the bowl was installed crooked and his charges for correctly setting the bowl. The contractor's statement, photographs, and my statements are all available to be made part of this record. I was poorly treated and was fearful after being ordered to leave the premises. I was shocked to be treated this way. I am asking not for complete refund of my money but for half of it to be refunded to compensate the contractor for resetting the sink and for repair of the cracks. I am not charging for the delay in the plumbing inspection caused by the multiple times I returned to ask for satisfactory installation. A compromise seems appropriate. An apology for my treatment would be nice but I don't expect that from Mr. [redacted].Final Business Response /[redacted]/Mrs.[redacted]You have two chance to point me the complain that you saying about scratch and chip/crack repairs when you came back two times but you choose not to do at that time Ill would have been glad to fix, now I don't trust your complain any more for the reason. I am saying that because this is a pick up I don't now what happen when you had that marble at you house if all construction going on.we treat every body with respect no matter the age.Your complain is dismiss because you choose to stop the payment before you have final answer from our company.Thank you[redacted]
