Lloyd P[redacted]Reference: Response to Complaint                In
response to the complaint against Nature
Block Home Services, the customer initially asked me to fix the leaking and
backed-up gutters on the front and back of...

the house, repair the deteriorating
cylinder block on the left bottom side of the house and paint the trim around
the house from white to the yellowish color she had purchased. I accepted the
job based on her being a pre-existing friend. I also explained to her that I
would have to do prep work before the actual work could begin. This consisted
of removing debris from around the house ( remove the old door frame and
packaging that was left on the side walk, removing bags of mulch at the left
corner of the house, cutting the grass in front of the house and power
washing  all areas that would be worked
on). While inspecting the work area I found two areas with rot damage (left on
the side of the porch facial board and the drip band on the front of the porch
had to be replaced). The client asked what the cost would be for the job. I
replied $[redacted]. She accepted the price. I also told her that I usually get ½
the amount at the beginning of a job and ½ near the end. She insisted on giving
the full amount.             When I
began the work she began to add on more tasks. The tasks that were added on included
installing step railings, replacing a shingle on the back of the house and she
was having a load of gravel delivered.
The load of gravel was supposed to be delivered through the driveway on
the right side of the house and poured around the back to form a U shape. I
told her that the dump truck wouldn’t be able to enter the driveway due to low
hanging tree limbs and I would cut and dispose of them if she needed me to. She
agreed. At that point I cut and removed the limbs. I went back to working on
the house, at this point I was power washing. A day or two later she asked if I
could be there when the driver delivered the gravel. I replied I would need to
know when he would come before I could answer her. She wasn’t sure what day he
would come due to it had been raining prior to her calling for the load. The
driver came and delivered the load on the opposite side of the driveway in one
spot causing a problem because it had to be spread. I told her I could get a
guy in the neighborhood with a tractor and he and I could spread it for her.
She agreed. I contacted him and we spread the gravel and I paid the price he
requested of $[redacted] for his service and she repaid me the $[redacted]The next day, I proceeded to work on the house.  On May 14, 2017, a car struck her front porch
and she texted me pictures of the damage.
I then had to stop work on the house until the insurance company could
examine the damage. Approximately two or three weeks later, the complainant
contacted me about cutting her yard because she was going out of the
country.  We negotiated the price of
$[redacted].  I called her to ask if she had
gas for the lawnmower in order for me to begin cutting.  She replied in a very nasty tone, “I’m not at
home and I’m not going to give you any gas” and hung up the phone.  I assumed she was having a bad day.  I did not appreciate her rudeness as I was
trying to help her by agreeing to the cut for the low price of $[redacted].  After that day, it was approximately 3 months
before she contacted me again to say the repair work on the front porch was almost completed.   I live about ½
mile from her residence and when I drove by, I saw that the 2x4’s were still
supporting the porch overhang which was a clear indication that the work on the
porch was not completed and she had obviously gotten someone to now start painting
the house from green to gray. After her filing this complaint I don’t think it’s a good
idea to have any contact with her and I will not continue to work for the
complainant as I feel have already satisfied our initial $[redacted]
agreement.  Due to the fact that I
completed multiple additional tasks requested by the complainant, I feel that I
have satisfied the $[redacted] agreement.  Below
please note the detailed outline of the work completed on the house along with
the added work previously stated.Debris Removal:  remove front door frame, packaging left on the walkway and bags of mulch against the left side of the house.Power washed:  gutters power-washed, flushed around the house and the leaking area in the front sealed. Porch overhang, windows, shutters, trim and cylinder blocks on the left side of the front of the house.Scraped:  trim, and cylinder blocks on the front left hand side, porch and left side of house.Grass:  cut beside the front of the house and in the front yard.Painted:   (porch’s trim- front and left side) and trim on the front left side of house.Wood Replacement:  front porch drip-band and (left side facial board, cut to size and angled). As for the line of fence she indicated in the complaint, I
don’t recall anything mentioned at the initial work agreement. Respectfully,

We are SO thankful and pleased with all the variety of work done by this company! We had a large, personalized deck built around an existing fish pond as well as an extended walkway and steps. This was several years ago & looks as great today as the first day! We also had two personalized closets built in our Cape Cod-style home upstairs that we knew would be a challenge, but this company took on that challenge and made them amazing! We use all of these daily and are incredibly grateful for the way [redacted] could take what we thought would be impossible and made it a reality. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
