1. I told Mr*** I would love to have the opportunity to mount his white (piebald deer)Mr*** called me several times and stated that I was one of several taxidermists that he had spoken with and that he wanted to get his full mount deer done as cheaply as possibleI gave him a price
of $2,000.00 for the full deer mountOther taxidermists charge $4,or more for a full deer mount. There was never a definite time constriction, but I told him I would try to have it done around a year or so3. Mr*** paid me $to get things startedI sent off the hide to be tanned and paid all the postage expenses which cost $I had time involved in preparing the deer skin and skinning the head outI returned the amount of $(of the $Mr*** had paid me up front) to Mr*** because I could not complete the project as agreed due to health issues. 4. Each time Mr*** has called me on my phone or my wife's phone, I returned every call within hours5. I called Mr*** on 10-19-to let him know I thought I would have the deer completed by October 27, but, as stated I could not finish the project due to health issuesMr*** received a full piebald deer skin that has been professionally wet tanned which can be rehydrated and causes zero to very little shrinkage which is normalAll taxidermists know this and the tannery's tell you this up frontMost taxidermists have to send off the deer skins to be tanned unless they do the professional tanning themselvesI told Mr*** I would personally drive his skin to the tannery but, the cost would have been greater to do so6. I could not mount the full sized deer without it remaining bolted to the baseThis is why I asked him to bring a covered trailer. Mr*** texted my wife's phone to say he was unable to get a covered trailer for the mountI returned his phone call and told him then that I was having health issues and would meet him at *** gas station to give his deer hide with antlers and a $check back to himAt the gas station he stated that the check was a little lightI only charged for the expenses of the professional tanning and shipping expenses7. The expenses that Mr*** would occur to get his full deer mounted are the difference of pricing for each taxidermistI happened to be the cheapest 8. I am sorry Mr*** is still so upset but, I felt I was doing the right thing by returning his professionally tanned deer hide with antlers and a refund check of $250.00. Sincerely, Michael ED***, Sr
