Nature's Finest Taxidermy Reviews (1)

1.  I told Mr. [redacted] I would love to have the opportunity to mount his white (piebald deer). Mr. [redacted] called me several times and stated that I was one of several taxidermists that he had spoken with and that he wanted to get his full mount deer done as cheaply as possible. I gave him a price...

of $2,000.00  for the full deer mount. Other taxidermists charge $4,500.00 or more for a full deer mount.  2. There was never a definite time constriction, but I told him I would try to have it done around a year or so. 3.  Mr. [redacted] paid me $500.00 to get things started. I sent off the hide to be tanned and paid all the postage expenses which cost $270.00. I had time involved in preparing the deer skin and skinning the head out. I returned the amount of $250.00 (of the $500.00 Mr. [redacted] had paid me up front) to Mr. [redacted] because I could not complete the project as agreed due to health issues.  4.  Each time Mr. [redacted] has called me on my phone or my wife's phone, I returned every call within 24 hours. 5.  I called Mr. [redacted] on 10-19-17 to let him know I thought I would have the deer completed by October 27, 2017 but, as stated I could not finish the project due to health issues. Mr. [redacted] received a full piebald deer skin that has been professionally wet tanned which can be rehydrated and causes zero to very little shrinkage which is normal. All taxidermists know this and the tannery's tell you this up front. Most taxidermists have to send off the deer skins to be tanned unless they do the professional tanning themselves. I told Mr. [redacted] I would personally drive his skin to the tannery but, the cost would have been greater to do so. 6.  I could not mount the full sized deer without it remaining bolted to the base. This is why I asked him to bring a covered trailer.  Mr. [redacted] texted my wife's phone to say he was unable to get a covered trailer for the mount. I returned his phone call and told him then that I was having health issues and would meet him at [redacted] gas station to give his deer hide with antlers and a $250.00 check back to him. At the gas station he stated that the check was a little light. I only charged for the expenses of the professional tanning and shipping expenses. 7.  The expenses that Mr. [redacted] would occur to get his full deer mounted are the difference of pricing for each taxidermist. I happened to be the cheapest.   8.  I am sorry Mr. [redacted] is still so upset but, I felt I was doing the right thing by returning his professionally tanned deer hide with antlers and a refund check of $250.00.  Sincerely, Michael E. D[redacted], Sr.
