NCLEXED Reviews (%countItem)

NCLEXED communication is an issue for me. I never can get a live person or a prompt response from anyone. Responses are a week later and inconsistent.
I joined NCLEXED, INC on Sept. 27, 2019 with Laura C with the intention to receive accountability with reviewing for the NCLEX. Once I had signed up and they received my $495, everything changed. I was unable to get someone on the phone if I would call the business or even try to reach out to Laura C. I was always forced to leave a voicemail or send a message on the "slack" messenger. When I would finally get a call back or response it would be weeks later or with an attitude.
On Dec. 3, 2019 I tried to reach out again through "slack" to Laura with a question about my course. Didn't receive a response until Dec. 6, 2019 which was to late because I had reached out to another lady Adrianna P who tells me that Laura was on maternity leave that's why her responses were delayed. I felt that was terrible communication to me as the customer, a notice or email or message in "slack" should have sent to me letting me know and whom I'm to reach out to for questions or concerns.
Next, Adrianna P offered on 12/6/2019 to extend my course to 12/26/2019 midnight because of personal issues and due to the delay in the communication. When I went online to take my post-assessment test on 12/26/19 about 8pm, it showed my course was closed. I proceeded to contact Adrianna P, my instructor Cherelle V, and the company itself by "slack", email, I received no response for a couple of days again. Today, I receive a response by Adrianna P saying the following: "Hi Nicole, I understand it's been a rough time for you, but we cannot extend your course. The communication is delayed because we are closed for the holidays and all students and teachers have finished for the term". We have tried our best to support you with the extension that we usually charge for".
I have yet to receive a response from the company at all that I sent 2-3 days ago.
I have always asked could I speak to the manager or owner of this company and I never get anyone. I am very displeased with is company, I will never recommend this company to anyone or my colleagues. It's a false advertisement of business and it need to be looked at so the next person does not have to lose $500 dollars on bad service and product management.

Desired Outcome

The resolution I am seeking is a refund of my $495 dollars due to not receiving the services I paid for. I was promised by Laura who is the program coordinator that this company was very reliable, and would provide accountability and continued communication. I am very displeased with the way that I have been treated regarding the communication, product service and management.

NCLEXED Response • Jan 15, 2020

In response to student's concerns, I will briefly describe our process for the Mentorship/Tutor program at NCLEXED INC.

1) Each student enrolls in the 5-Weeks Live Online Mentorship/Tutor course which includes 3 additional weeks to complete 20 practice quizzes (approx. 1500 questions) as a FREE complimentary incentive to enhance learning. This is a total of 8 weeks for the entire course for the cost of 5 weeks.

2) After enrollment, each student receives a one-on-one live orientation session with the program coordinator within 2 days after enrollment. The course schedule, course expectations, course material, an e-book and the cancellation and refund policy is reviewed during this meeting.

3) Also during orientation, each student is provided with training on how to log into their NCLEXED student portal using our Slack communication platform. Each student is provided with their own private Slack channel, a student discussion board and a community channel if they need to contact their Instructors, Program Coordinator, classmates and any of our nursing educators. The students also have the option to communicate with their instructor, the program director and program coordinator via email or phone.

4) The last item discussed during orientation is scheduling the student's first mentorship/tutor
session with your nursing instructor.

5) Each live mentorship/tutor session is 2 hours in length, once per week for 5 weeks with their nursing instructor. Included with each session is a live lecture with the nursing educator, test taking strategies and practice questions and/or case study for review. Once each weekly session is completed, the students are expected to complete their assigned practice quiz based on the lecture received.

6). During their final live mentorship/tutor session (week 5), each student is provided with a 14 day calendar with scheduled due dates to complete 20 additional practice quizzes. A comprehensive and a post-readiness assessment exam are also included. However, they have a total of 3 weeks to complete these quizzes.

7). In addition, each student is instructed during orientation and at the end of your last session (week 5) to contact the program coordinator when all additional practice quizzes and the post readiness assessment is completed. The post readiness assessment is most important because this is the exam that determines if the student is ready to take their state board NCLEX exam. Every students is highly encouraged by their instructor to contact the program coordinator after completing their post readiness assessment exam. Once the readiness assessment is completed, NCLEXED received an automated notification. Then the program coordinator reaches out to the student to schedule a meeting to discuss the results. However, it is also the student's responsibility of reach out to the program coordinator to set up a meeting to review their results. If the student receives a passing score on their readiness assessment exam, they will receive the green light to take their NCLEX. It's recommended they take the NCLEX within 3 weeks of receiving their green light.

In response to this complaint, the student enrolled in the 5 weeks course on September 27, 2019. The student received her live orientation meeting on October 1, 2019 with the program coordinator. She completed her last mentorship/tutor session on November 19, 2019 which concluded her 5 weeks course. During this period, two schedule changes were made by the student and her instructor. The first change was by the student, she had to rearrange her session due to a conflict with her work schedule which was accommodated by her instructor. The second change was with her instructor who also had a scheduling conflict. However, the instructor was able to work out her schedule and no change was necessary, the class continues as originally scheduled. Nevertheless, the student completed her entire 5-weeks course without any delays. As the student mentioned in her complaint, she is seeking a full refund for not receiving the service she paid for. In essence, based on the company's cancellation/refund policy, it states "If a student completed 50% or more of their course, a refund is not permitted"). In this case, the student attended all 5 weeks of her live instruction with her instructor. Also note, the additional 3 weeks added to her 5 weeks course is complimentary, it's FREE at no extra charge to the students. This is to ensure the student can successfully complete the additional practice quizzes. NCLEXED only charges for 5 weeks of live mentorship/tutor sessions.

Also note, in this situation, the student did not finish her 20 additional quizzes as scheduled to complete on December 11th, 2019. On Tuesday, December 3rd, the student contacted the program coordinator via the Slack communication channel and phone to inform that her mother was sick and she had a challenging work schedule which hindered her time to complete her quizzes by the due date. The student received a response from the program coordinator on December 6th. However, the delay occurred because the program coordinator was out of the office for a few days. Our student success coordinator responded to the student's message and explained why there was a delay in responding.

As the program director, I was informed of the delay in communication. As a result, I approved to extend the student's course for an additional 15 days, free of charge which is normally a fee charged for any course extension. My goal was to take responsibility of the communication delay and to ensure the student can successfully complete all her quizzes. The extension of her course was scheduled to expire on December 26, 2019. However, on December 26th at 10:55pm, the student called the office, sent an email to her instructor, to the student success coordinator and the program coordinator stating her course expired before midnight of the December 26th and she was not able to complete her quizzes. Keep in mind, the student already had 3 weeks after completing her 5 weeks course to finish these quizzes and was also given 15 additional days to complete the same quizzes. This is a total of 36 days (5 weeks) to finish the quizzes which normally take 2 weeks to complete.

As mentioned earlier, a student cannot receive the green light if all quizzes including their comprehensive and post readiness assessment exam are not completed with a passing score. In this case, the student only completed 6 out of 20 quizzes. She did not complete her comprehensive exam or her post readiness assessment exam within the extra 5 weeks provided. It was evident the student waited until the last day when the course expired to take the remaining 14 quizzes (over 1000 questions). As previously mentioned, she contacted the company on December 26th 2019 at 10:55pm to notify that her course expired. The student also sent an email message on December 26th at 10:15pm to our support team requesting a full refund of $495. I responded to the student's email on December 31st 2019, which includes the weekend days to address her concerns. She responded back to my email on January 3rd, 2020.

The student also stated in her complaint that she is disappointed with the lack of communication at NCLEXED. Please be advised, we have over 25 different conversations documented between the student, her instructor, the program coordinator, the student success coordinator and the program director since she started the program. This demonstrates we have been in constant communication with the student.

In summary, the student received and attended her 5 weeks course she paid for, however, she did not take advantage of the FREE 5 additional weeks to complete her practice quizzes and her post readiness assessment exam. At NCLEXED INC, our current NCLEX pass rate is 96%. Everyone on our team takes pride in all our students, we strive for perfection and our nursing educators including our support staff always work above and beyond to ensure our students are fully supported. But more importantly, preparing our students to successfully pass their state board exam (NCLEX) is our number one goal.

Respectfully,

Verna G, MSN-Ed, MBA, RN

Customer Response • Jan 26, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not except the response from Ms. G. No one is questioning the process of the company or percentage of passing rate, it's the integrity and communication of the company and Ms. G. In this response Ms. G is not speaking truth and she is denying and is not being accountable for the miscommunication to me as a paying student that was given to me by her employees. She is also not speaking truth in reference to my integrity as a student in stating that I didn't take full advantage with the additional 5 weeks. Even if I don't get the request that I am seeking, I definitely will not recommend this company as a resource for the NCLEX to any of my fellow colleagues and professors. I regret I wasted $497 on this review.

NCLEXED Response • Jan 29, 2020

In reference to the student's response, she stated she is not questioning the company's process or pass rate but she's unhappy with the miscommunication. The miscommunication the student is referring to is towards one individual, our program coordinator. Communication is subjective. In our program, it is uncommon that a student seeks to frequently switch their self-pre-arranged schedule or needs to speak to the program coordinator more than 1-2 times throughout their entire program. This student sent multiple messages in the middle of the night expecting immediate response. The student even sent the same messages to the program coordinator, support staff and her instructor just to notify she needed to switch her schedule and to request an extension of her course because she was unable to finish her quizzes on time due to family issues and work schedule conflicts.

At NCLEXED, we communicate with all our students regularly, but it is nowhere stated students will receive daily follow up calls from the program coordinator. The majority of student communication is between the student and their instructor. All instructors are advised to respond to their students within 24-48 hours. However, if the student has non-nursing questions or concerns such as scheduling conflict that their instructor cannot resolve independently or personal matters, they are advised to contact the program coordinator.

As the director of the company, in my humble opinion I have never experience such demands and impatience for communication within specified timeframes. However, we sincerely apologize if the student felt her communication was not addressed in a timely matter but make note, she was connected with another student support specialist to address her concerns. In addition, due to the delay and miscommunication, we gave the student 15 additional days free of charge including 3 additional weeks after completing her 5 weeks live course instruction with her teacher. This equates to a 10 weeks course for the cost of 5 weeks ($495).

Nevertheless, the student's inquires was responded to, she cannot deny that. Her inquiries were responded to in enough time that would allow her to successfully complete her course. She chose not to. When our students adhere to their course objectives and complete all requirements in the time allotted, they are usually successful on their state board exams (NCLEX). Now that the student's course expired even with the addition weeks given to complete her practice quizzes, she is upset and blaming her performance on miscommunication with our program coordinator.

Again, communication is subjective. I believe our student's NCLEX success does not rely on communication with a non-nursing staff member. A student success is based on commitment to our program, self-accountability, motivation and good study habits.

I hope Nicole can successfully obtain her RN license in the near future, she is a smart student and even though she is unhappy with the outcome, I truly believe she can pass her state board if she maintains commitment to excellence, stay positive, avoid distractions and study hard.

Best of luck!

Great program. Used it for our nursing program students. Wonderfully professional and much better than some of the more expensive options for NCLEX training. I would recommend to any school who needs to improve their pass rates.
