12/06/2017  I have been doing concrete work for 42 years and have never been sued or had a Revdex.com complaint against me. I did with these folks what I do with all my customers: I get 1/2 down and when finished, I go over the job with the customer and make sure they are satisfied before getting the other 1/2. They were happy before I left and paid the balance after we had gone over all the work. I had told him since he wanted it flat, he would have puddles in some areas (part of his garage does not have a gutter which contributes to the problem. In the area where the deck was, I put the concrete where he told me he wanted it; had I put more in the area of which he now complains, they would not be able to open the gate. About two weeks after I finished, there was a rain and they called about the puddling. I went over and looked and he said something about tearing it all out which I didn't think much of as I had warned him about the puddling since he wanted things flat. I wanted to nevertheless to try and help them and I was thinking about a trough drain to reduce the puddling around the entries. I told him let me think about this and I will get back with you. My dad later died and I got off schedule a few days. I was still planning on the trough drain or similar, but, then the next thing I know there is an awful [redacted] posting about this job and me and my business where I was called every name in the book.  I lost all interest in trying to do any more for them or help them because of all the lies that were put on [redacted]. So, I will not do any work for them nor issue any refund. Thanks for listening to my version and position. That atrocious [redacted] posting killed my desire to do anything more on this.

11-14-2017  {Left a Voice mail yesterday afternoon and asked consumer if had documents other than "Bid" as letter from businesses attorney suggests plans and specs exist. Also emailed this request to consumer this morning).11-20-2017  Thanks for calling again. We do not have cell phones and long distance calls are expensive, so sorry we did not get back with you. We do not do emails. The email address you have is for my stepson [redacted].  Yes, I believe there are more documents than just the bid. My wife and I  will have to find those. My stepson should have some pics he can send. Yes, we did talk about the drainage issue with him before the job started, but, any pooling was supposed to be toward the end of the driveway and not close to the house. Just outside the garage door, when it rains, you have to put something down; similar problems by the patio. The garbage cans sit funny because he did not pour out as far as he was supposed to. Plus he splattered concrete all over.  He did come back one time and he talked about stuff he could put in, that some holes could be filled and that he would come back and talk more about it. Now, he does not return my calls, won't answer the phone. No, I'd rather he not come back and try to do anything. I would like a refund. How much? Well, whatever it would take to make this right.  O.K., I'll get some estimates on that. There is one guy a family member had mentioned to do this job to start with, and then this guy came along. We know someone else with a bad experience who might be filing a complaint.{after speaking with consumer, mediator sent email to stepson requesting pics, etc.}11/27/2017 Thanks for calling and letting us know  you got the pictures from [redacted]. We looked but we do not have any documents that would be "written project specifications" or "specs" like mentioned in the letter his attorney wrote to the AG. He made some drawings when here, but, we never got a copy. All we got was the "Bid".  We do not want him to try and fix what he did and we have being trying to get estimates to have this done, but, everyone seems to be busy for awhile.  A guy from Hannibal may be here on Friday. When we get an estimate, we'll have [redacted] provide you a copy. Understand you can't discuss with the business a refund until we provide a figure.  thanks12/06/2017 [ mediator left voice mail with consumer that business believed they did what was asked to be done for concrete work, had warned about puddling, was thinking about nevertheless helping with a trough drain, but due to a [redacted] posting, business will not do anything else pertaining to this job]12/07/2017  Yes, we got your voice mail. We don't have a computer and believe it was my stepson who did the [redacted] post. A guy from Hannibal is supposed to be here today and make an estimate to rectify this situation. Thanks for letting me know that due to [redacted] posting, the business will not voluntarily do anything else on this job such as a refund, and complaint will be closed. Thanks for trying.

I am rejecting this response because: 1. The cracking and breaking away that is happening is not near the release joints were cut. 2. Was not told there would be pooling of water., who does concrete work where there will be pooling of water only where walkways and...

entry points, seems like in was done intentionally so he could scam some more money to fix it. Understood that it couldn't have been sloped towards the alley since the alley was to high. Was suppose to be dug down so it could be sloped down 1/8 of an inch down back into the yard away from garage. Any real professional will tell you pooling like I have will not be an obvious. 3. The concrete dimensions that was poured is larger then what the bid was for because he was told to bring it out to the edge of the house and sidewalk which was not done. 4. I have pictures of some of the trash that was left behind not all the trash that they left, but I can get you a few people that could verify the trash that they left behind. Yes real contractor's don't leave saw blades or other dangerous objects left behind, but to the words that you speak of it the response letter, he obviously is not a professional contractor because he failed to to clean up and discard the saw blades properly. Even today  Neal Cornwell refuses to answer the calls that are made to him. Yes any skilled concrete operators work in a manner to make sure splatter does not occur in which Neal Cornwell obviously is not a skilled contractor and has not mastered the technique to do so. He states that it was caused by vandalism. I'm sorry but it takes a fool to believe that story. Why would anyone go buy concrete, mix it, and keep it wet so it doesn't harden  through out the journey where there coming from to throw onto the lower parts of the doors, sides of the house and garage. And obviously was not scooped from the recent concrete pour otherwise there would have been signs in the concrete where it was tampered with. Why not throw it on the cars that would have been easier to access then the back of the house where they would have alerted the dog or triggered the lights. Why not vandal surrounding houses and garages. If it was suspected to be vandalism there would have been a police report made. Yes he was paid on the job completed because I took him at his word that he would be fixing the issue with the shorter dimensions of the porch. There was no way to know about the pooling of the water until it rained. In which he said he guarantee's his work but fails to do so. Also the same with the cracking and flaking, didn't occur until a few days later. Neal Cornwell is a good [redacted], he talked his way into believing he was a professional and I had nothing to worry about because he takes pride in his work and guarantee's he will fix it if something would occur within a time frame. He was alerted to all of the situations within a week after job completed and was told it needed to be fixed. Now can't get him to answer his phone of come over to fix the problems.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
