Review: We hired Neave Landscaping in August/September 2008 to design and install two retaining walls, a walking pathway, and associated drainage, leading to our basement door. The total cost to us for the project was $9,000.00. In April of this year, 2014, I noticed that one of the retaining walls has shifted/tilted drastically toward the basement door, to the point where it has ripped the trim woodwork off of its place surrounding the basement door. I believe the design of the wall is flawed, and that the slope of the wall is too close to vertical, and should have been sloped more gradually in the first place. I contacted Neave, beginning on April **, 2014 (and on 4/**/2014, 4/**/2014, 5/*/2014, 5/*/2014, 5/*/2014, 5/*/2014, and 5/**/2014), resulting in a quote from them for $4,360.00 to fix the wall. They suggested that "possibly" an animal has gotten into the drainage piping, and the "severe winter" has caused heaving of the ground, etc. Our stance is that just over 5 years after its installation, we are having a problem with a $9000 retaining wall. They have been designing retaining walls in New York state for many years, so cold winters should not come as a surprise to them. It should have been designed to account for cold weather - this is New York.Desired Settlement: We wish to have Neave Landscaping repair their defective retaining wall free of charge.

I contacted Neave Landscaping directly before filing a complaint with the Revdex.com, and the issue was NOT resolved, which led me to file the complaint. Since the complaint was filed, I have not heard from them.
