Nebraska's Home Improvement Center Reviews (%countItem)

The gutters that this company installed has continually had leak problems on the NE corner. They installed the gutters in early ***.
Gutters were installed in *** and I called them over 7 times to alert them about the leak at the NE corner. *** promised to correct the problem each time, but still not done.

Desired Outcome

Repair the leak or pay me when I do get it repaired by another company.

Nebraska's Home Improvement Center Response • Jul 29, 2018

We paid another company ( *** - ***, ***, ***) on *** to take care of the issue that the customer was having, we no longer having a gutter division or the equipment to handle it, that is why we hired another company to take care of it. The issue couldn't be done during the winter months due to safety issues because the building is 2 story. We have been in contact with the other company to come back out and look at the issue and they refused to do so, the going rate to repair a leaking corner is $*** plus a $*** trip charge we will be willing to pay up to $*** for another company to come out to seal this corner. And our latest communication with the customer by text was *** at 12:57 pm.

Failure to contact me and over 2 years waiting for warrenty repairs.
I have been waiting for over 2 years for warranty repairs. I have tried many times to contact them and they will not call me back. They said I have a lifetime warranty. But after 2 years I believe they are avoiding me so that I will go somewhere else.

Desired Outcome

I just want the repairs done that were promised.

Nebraska's Home Improvement Center Response

When the customer first called us two years ago *** (owner) stopped by the home to see what the issue was. They had a couple of pieces of siding that were loose and a top piece missing. A few weeks later we had an installer go to there home with material needed to fix the issue. Mrs. didn't believe that the installer had enough material to do said repair, which he did. We wouldn't send an installer 4 hours away with not enough material to take care of the issue. She sent him away, ( I believe because the installer was of ***.) I did speak with Mrs *** and explained to her that he did have enough material to do the repair, and she did nothing but argue about it. We have been in this business for over 20 years and know what it takes to repair an issue.

I have also sent a installer from the *** area, the one that actually performed the work. He did state to me since we first went out and looked at the repair that they had some other damage due to storms within that area. Our warranty does not cover any type of storm damage. The installer from *** is willing to do the repair that was due to workmanship but not do the repair due to the storm damage for free. He told the *** that he was extremely busy with other storm related repairs and that he would put them on his list to have it taken care of, but they have not agreed to pay the additional cost of the storm damage issues.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It was at least one year latter that he showed up and it was about 9pm. He was the one that said he did not have enough material, Mrs *** did not send him away he left on his own. My insurance adjuster told me that the siding was not properly installed. We have heard nothing from anyone about repairing the damange or that it was my responsibility. NHC has been very uncooperative with any repairs.

Nebraska's Home Improvement Center Response

The response Mrs. stated is very incorrect. It was not one year after they called in for us to go and do the repair. They day that the installer was at there home to make the repair Mrs. stated they didn't have enough material, which the installer did, we wouldn't send someone 4 hours away to do a repair without the necessary items to successfully take care of it. At that time the installer called the office to report what was going on. We spoke to Mrs. at this time and explained to her that he did have enough material and she did nothing but argue about it. At that point the installer was told to leave the home. He could not do his job due to customer. Since that time, the original installer has been to the home on two occasions. He reported to our office that they also had storm damage and that they needed to turn over to their insurance company, that our warranty does not cover storm damage. He left the customer his information and explained to them that once they had an adjuster out that he could come do the work and repair the couple of pieces of siding, but they would be responsible for the extra work due to storm damage. He also told them that he was extremely busy with storm damage work so as soon as they would get back to him he could put them on his list. He does his work in the order he receives confirmation. As Mrs. stated, they have had a adjuster out but the original installer has not heard from them. I have explained to Mrs. that we are no longer in the *** part of *** but the installer still lives in *** Ne and he would be happy to take care of them.
Mrs. also has our personal cell phone numbers and I haven't heard from her. The last time I did speak with her, which is right after the original installer was at their home, I told her to please call me if she had any issues with the original installer that did the original work, and I have not heard from her.

Again, we have been to the home to do the repair and had issues with the customer allowing the installer to repair. We have been willing to do the repair, but the customer is responsible for the additional labor and materials due to storm damage.
