Questar because they were improperly installed and the listing had been voidedThese water heaters were installed in a closet in the garage and there is very limited spaceWater heaters today have more insulation and will not fit in the same spaceThey did have a box of parts that they got from the manufacture to make them safe and my technician gave them a price verbally of $to install those parts but told them it might not solve their problem and pass inspectionThe first replacement option he gave them was to replace both water heaters with a high recovery water heater that would give as much hot water as the that needed to be replacedThe price was $4,They said they could not afford that and asked for another optionHe told them he could install one standard gallon water heater but it would not supply as much hot water as the 2- gallon water heaters for $2,They said that there were only people living in the home at the time and they did not need that much hot waterThey did not tell the technician they had jetted tubs and there was a high demand for more waterWe simply installed what they wanted based on their ability to pay knowing all their options.On November 18, they contacted our company and said that the water heater was not up to code (It is up to code)It was on November 23, that she contacted our company and said she didn't have enough hot waterUpon our inspection, we offered to to replace the standard gallon water heater with the high recovery water heater and only charge her the difference in price $2,or install a mixing valve with the standard (It mixes hot water with cold water to give about 30% more hot water) for $She refused both of our offers.I do not feel we are responsible for their decision to go with the least expensive option that was going to provide them with a supply of hot waterShe called several other times to talk about this and I offered to install the mixing valve for $instead of $to help her outThat price doesn't even cover my material and labor cost but I was trying to do my best

I am rejecting this response because: The response from NEERING PLUMBING is incorrect, When the technician asked if I had a jetted tub, I told him I had jetted tubs. Since he was the professional he should have never installed the size of water heater he did. I never said I couldn't afford too have the correct size installedIf they would have told me the correct informedLike you will not be able to take a hot bath anymoreDo you honestly believe I would have said yes go ahead and install the wrong water heater because it was cheaper. I paid them $2,dollars for something that does not fit my needs.When I said I wanted to wait and call another company and get a second option. The technician then wanted to charge me a service fee of $for the estimateEven though the website says free estimatesThen technician continued to reassure me it would fine for my size houseSince it the water heater appears to be twice as large a the ones they removed, I believed him. The information the NEERING has submitted in their response is incorrectLowes carries the exact same size they removedLOWES will come install to brand new waters for less then I paid for one. The size of my closet is not the problem. The claim about they offered to install the correct ones but I said no go with the wrong one is false.Yes they have offered to correct the problem for an additional feeI DO NOT WANT TO PAY ANYMORE MONEYIF THEY WOULD HAVE DONE THEIR JOB CORRECTLY THIS WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.I WANT NEERING TO COME GET THERE WATER HEATER AND REFUND MY MONEY!!!!!! THEN I CAN GET SOMEONE ELSE TO INSTALL WHAT I NEED.IF THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO DO SO THEN I WILL TAKE THEM TO COURT AND THEY CAN NOT ONLY REFUND MY MONEY THEY CAN ALSO PAY ME FOR PAIN AND SUFFERING. I AM SICK AND TO SIT THERE WET AND WAIT FOR THE WATER TO GET HOT SO I CAN FINISH RINSING MY HAIR IS NOT GOOD FOR MY HEALTH.THIS IS STRESSFUL TO ME AND I AM NOT AT FAULT HEREIF YOU THINK I AM WILLING TO SETTLE FOR THIS PRODUCT. Dear Revdex.com,At this point, this is where we stand. We have already given them a 33% discount on the work agreed to. We are not willing to go any further with discounts or money back.We are willing to offer a complimentary safety check on their plumbing system or $50 towards future service.I hope this resolves the issue.Thanks, Jake and Mike

I have reviewed the latest response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is unsatisfactory to me, but I don't see that I have any other recourse than accepting this inadequate explanation of their costs on my simple job.  I would comment that Neerings will get away with their form of robbery in a large city such as Salt Lake because there are so many victims they can prey on and they don't have to rely on repeat business.  They would never get away with it in a small town where a reputation for quality work and honest billing is the hallmark of a good business, and if that business begins to provide poor service or charge exorbitant fees they go out of business.  They got my $500 but I'm hoping someone else continues to review their fees and question their ethics.

Dear [redacted]Business and Consumer RelationsWe have been in business for over 81 years. During that time, we have learned exactly what its costs us to do work in a customer’s home on average. We use a pricing guidebook so we can agree with the customer in advance as to what service we will...

provide and the cost of that service.Enclosed is a copy of one of our invoices. As you can see, the customer agreed to pay $843 for the service. That is our average price for that service.When my tech was finished the customer was concerned about the price. We always try to resolve customer issues as soon as possible. We then offered a discounted price of $554, reduced the price by $289. I assumed at the time that the customer was then satisfied with the work and the price because he had signed the invoice, stating that he acknowledges the satisfactory completion of the work and paid by credit card.I think it was very generous for the job to have already been discounted even though he had agreed to pay $843.We did earn an honest 20% profit on this service. Also, the motor is firmly mounted to the pump base, so there was no misalignment to cause future problems at this time.To satisfy the customer, we can offer a complimentary safety check on their plumbing system or $50 towards future service. Thank you, Neerings plumbing & Heating
