NEI Global Relocation Reviews (4)

Would give NEGATIVE stars if I could!
During a recent corporate relocation, our move was to be administered and managed by a representative from NEI Global. Being our first relocation, we haven't been through this process before but we must have had a very high/unrealistic expectation. Our representative said that NEI would be handling everything so that we would have a stress-free relocation experience. This was so far from what we actually experienced.

Their explanations of the process were nothing more than "reading" from the literature available from their portal. When asking questions for clarification, we were told the same thing again, louder and more condescending. We are both college educated and not stupid people, but were certainly treated as if we were. The only time we actually got clarifying answers to our questions was when we provided specific scenarios along with a choice of exacting answers that addressed our questions directly. If I ask a question, it's because I don't understand. Saying the same thing louder does not provide any clarification.

After 4 weeks of messing around making sure that they had secured everything they needed to establish the "buy out" of our home, we were allowed to list our home for sale (almost 6 weeks later). Because of the delay and the swing in the market this actually cost us about $20K dollars in profit not being able to list earlier. Once we got an offer (we actually had 2 for the same amount), we provided the information to NEI who then countered to our buyers $10k less than their offer (for a total loss of more than $30K).

NEI was also managing our purchase at our destination. When we requested an agent to begin the purchase process, we were told it was too early to begin looking. She'd let us know when we could start looking. About 2 weeks later we were finally given permission to begin looking for a new home. She said she and/or her assistant would reach out to an agent at destination. We waited and waiting, but crickets. After another 2 weeks, we contacted our rep to inquire on our agent since we hadn't heard from anyone. She seemed surprised and said she'd get right on it. Within a day we had a new agent. Someone dropped the ball here. In the meantime our listing agent had to constantly request detail information from NEI to proceed with the sale of our home. They treated her as badly stating that the information was, "None of her business." From the beginning, NEI knew we only had 6 weeks to report to the new location. We finally got there 15 weeks later.

In conclusion, we found the entire process to be shady. There was an extreme lack of transparency (we were told that we weren't allowed to have certain inspections and appraisals). There was no sense of urgency by anyone at NEI. We were treated as if we were ignorant and that they were superior to us, speaking to us in a condescending and arrogant manner. Their attempts at empathy were flat and insincere. We were lied to and bullied to allow things that didn't feel right. Their go-to excuse was always to blame everything on our employer rather than take responsibility for their inept approach. It was apparent that they have no real-life experience in the home sale process except where they can check off boxes on a punch list. At no time did we find this process to be stress-free or even helpful. We experienced an enormous amount of stress and could have been a lot better off had we jumped into the process on our own.

Should we be presented with another relocation in the future, we will either decline or will handle everything ourselves without the assistance of NEI.

WOULD NEVER USE NEI AGAIN Regarding the preparation for and execution of listing our existing home for sale, frustration and lack of timely results was our experience all along In no way whatsoever did we experience NEI meeting it's mission of providing "service exceeding expectations." Furthermore, we did not experience their promised results of "superior customer satisfaction, accuracy and cost efficiency." We spent a significant amount of our own time procuring inspections and relator actions to finally get our home listed on the market It took four weeks to get our home on the market, well beyond the expectations set by our NEI representative We fully believe had we not contacted providers/inspectors ourselves (with NEI's permission), after their failed attempts to get anything done, it would have been even longer The majority of the providers involved in our relocation assignment specifically verbalized that the NEI (&/or it's affiliates) were "pain" to work with NEI was not cost efficient and mysteriously couldn't provide copy of invoices for the associated costs Lastly, my wife and I found the NEI representative arrogant and condescending It was clear she felt she was above the people of small-town-America

NEI was not cost efficient and mysteriously couldn't provide copy of invoices for the associated costs.
