I worked with Greg *** with the Lombard office. He made my home buying experience so much easier. Greg took the time to explain all of my options and everything that I didn't understand. He was always in communication with me and responded quicker than I expected. As a first time home buyer, I was inexperienced and stressed out about everything and he reassured me and made everything go very smooth. It was so nice to actually interact with a human who understood my needs and didn't treat me like another loan on a factory assembly line. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Greg was though my entire experience. I couldn't be happier with Neighborhood Loans. Thanks to Greg, I'm a homeowner now!

Working with Neighborhood loans, specially the JB team was the worst mistake I made during my mortgage financing process. Instead of my first homebuyer experience being one of the most exciting times of my life, the literally made it the worst and most stressful time. I would never work wither again and I would never refer them to anyone. Following is a email I sent the JB team 2 days before my closing which sums up my experience. It was so bad, I asked them not to be at my closing. Also, during the whole process my down payment was supposed to be 3.5% but when I got to the closing table it was changed without my knowledge to 5%. If I had not already gone through all I had, and really wanted the condo, I would’ve walked away!
Let’s be honest here, your team has not had good communication with me during this process, period. I haven’t even heard from Joe who I was referred to and began this process with, in weeks! Literally! Every decision you guys have made has been last minute. The decision to ask me about a account that was “supposed to be paid” a week before closing, was poor communication. The decision to have me get a “gift” was last minute and poor communication. I was told by the loan processor, Joe told her he had spoken to me about the “gift” which was untrue because, as I said before, I have not heard from Joe in weeks! To be specific the last time I had any communication with Joe was the day I sent out the email about me feeling like I was in the dark and didn’t know what was going on. When he called me he told me, “I was all over the place with my email and if they had any updates that they would call me.” So that was clearly a lie. I never knew about the gift until the email from the loan processor was sent out. Then, you guys told Veronica today, that Sara explained to me about, when the mortgage payment would be due and about the interest. That was another lie, because we literally only spoke about whether I was able to remove the gift money or not. The conversation was literally 1 minute because I checked my call record. I do understand that this process can be very stressful for first time home buyers but this has been the worst experience with this company. It seems like you guys felt I needed to have this loan with you as if I couldn’t get one anywhere else, which is untrue. I appreciate the work that you “did” do but, you saying you’re happy with how you guys handled my transaction, is an insult to me. From this day forward, I will ask that all other communication about this transaction be done through my attorney. If you guys don’t “have” to be there Friday I would prefer that you not be. I remember Joe and Sara telling me they have my best interest in mind, and they were going to work for me, I don’t feel that at all. Lastly, no, you can’t control how I feel but, being a company that relies on referrals and pride yourselves for having great customer service and going above and beyond, you guys should’ve done better to make sure I was given that kind of experience because I wasn’t.
