To Revdex.com. Customer Complaint ID # [redacted]. The boat was in for repair late July 2014. We installed a new...

motor, new carburetor, drained and cleaned fuel tank, and test run boat on dyno for 2 hours. We however did not lake test boat because the tires were not safe and the customer did not want me to replace them. The boat (215 express cruiser sea ray) then sat on my lot for 4 Y2  months before customer came to pick it up and pay for it. At that time I told the customer he really needed new tires and that there was a 1 year warranty on all parts and labor. I also told the customer that I winterized the Boat for free since he let it sit here for the winter. I did that because I didn't want the new engine to crack if the weather got below freezing. That is what caused his original problem in the first place. Still unclear why insurance would cover freeze damage especially when customer neglected to do preventive maintenance to prevent that very issue. The customer called several weeks later and stated that he could not get the boat to start. I asked him to bring the boat back to me. So that I may investigate the issue. When the customer brought the boat back in he stood there and watched me primed the fuel system and start the boat. The customer asked me at that time why I had to prime the fuel system. I informed the customer that when we winterize a boat we run engine and fog the cylinders with fogging oil, and also treat the gas with stabil for storage. Then we drain all water from hoses, engine block, manifolds, empty the fuel water separator, and run carburetor of fuel so that the carburetor will not varnish up if its sits for a long time. In my professional opinion I believe the boat has not been used since that day or use very little. Because new engines require a 20 hour service per manufacture warranty and I never heard back from the customer after that. The customer has an older boat and things are going to wear and break from time to time. I strongly believe I shouldn't be held responsible for repairs well after his warranty is up, and neglect on the customer part on preventive maintenance of his boat. 2 years have passed and this is the first I'm hearing of the boat having issues after the customer last visit. My business is a Family Business and we thrive because of our extraordinary customer service. All the customer would of have to of done was make simple phone call to us in a timely manner. In regards to parts and bolts being missing in the Revdex.com complaint ID [redacted]. This is the first we are hearing about this, and we are in the middle of a pending investigation with same customer with their insurance company. Same Customer complaining two separate complaints made. So makes me ponder to thought what the real truth is with different stories. At the end of the day our company just wants to give the best customer service, but we definitely don't believe we are held accountable for customer boat issue for lack of basic owner preventive maintenance on their part, failure to take the advice of the mechanic that fixed their boat, and lack of communication of the boat having any issues Thank You [redacted]
