I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Mr [redacted] is correct that it was not my [redacted] report, but it was my [redacted] report that was harmed by their inquiry. Most of my information was obtained by the salesman when he copied it from my driver’s license. When he asked for my SS number, I asked him about it affecting my credit report. And as I stated in my complaint, I was told it would be a “soft” inquiry which does not harm my score. Apparently both he and Mr [redacted] do not understand how credit inquiries work. Yes, they do affect the credit score and mine dropped 2 points due to Nelson’s inquiry.  They deny doing a “hard” inquiry, even though it is clearly listed on my credit report, they have not had it removed, and did not send to me the gift card as they stated.  So I definitely reject the Business response.

We make every effort to make sure every customer receives their $5.00 [redacted] gift card just for coming. We will mail MS. [redacted] her gift card to the address listed in the complaint.The Nelson Automotive Group does not have a contract with [redacted] Credit Bureau’s so there is no way for an inquiry...

to appear on MS [redacted] report. We do however have a contract with [redacted] of which an inquiry was made on October 21, 2017. The only way for us to do an inquiry is with complete name, full address, date of birth, phone number and social security number. This information can only be obtained if Ms. [redacted] gave it to us.  Ms. [redacted]’s information was not shared or submitted to any lenders because she did not purchase a vehicle. Her credit was not negatively effective by our inquiry. Per Ms. [redacted]’s request, we will contact [redacted] to see if the inquire can be removed.If any further information is needed, please don’t hesitate to call me @ [redacted]Sincerely,[redacted]GSM, GR Chevrolet
