Nelson Scott King Reviews (3)

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below According to MrKing, we didn't provide payment for himself and his workers; this is a lie, MrKing and his 'workers' were paid at every request for funds He and his workers would not show up for weeks at a time, yet it seems he still expected my mother and myself to support him and his workers (who are primarily his sons) even when they weren't there! After paying MrKing the money for concrete, and money to pay his staff at the same time (one day apart) he came back asking for more money, and we replied that we didn't have any more money; we had just discussed this the previous night He never showed up to finish any of the work his started; it will cost thousands of dollars to repair the mess he made of my yard; to reshingle the roof where he and his 'workers' tore a hole; to fix the wiring conduit strung across the back entry, amoung other issues including the fact that he drained my mother's life savings and when the money ran out, disappeared This is the first I've heard that I was the 'Contractor in charge' of this project; I did apply for the permit, as MrKing does not have a contractor's license and was doing this job as a 'friend' (we have treated MrKing as family for years) but I did not know that it is illegal for him to have taken on this job without a license He promised us he would 'make it right' and 'take care of us'; we trusted him when he said he could do this job, and paid him every time he asked for money until we ran out We paid him more than $25,in excess of the estimate he gave for the entire job when obtaining the building permit Regards, [redacted]

This response is in reference to your letter dated 10/31/Your letter stated "The RevDex.com received a complaint about your business"I have no business and worked only as a laborer by the hour for the plaintiffThe plaintiff was the contractor and was responsible for
getting permits, managing their project etcI had to acquire extra help at times and the plaintiff agreed to the hourly wages we requestedThe plaintiff advanced me funds to purchase concreteAt the time to orderconcrete the plaintiff refused to give me money to pay myself and two helpersThe helpers had family's and needed their wages to feed their family's and other domestic obligationsI paid the help with the money advanced to me for the concrete so they could feed their family'sI explained this in detail to the plaintiff and tried several times to resolve the concrete funds issueWe needed the funds so we could complete the masonry workI expressed several times to the plaintiff that I was more than willing to finish their project but we can not work for free and support our family's. As to the other issues such as the doorway being blocked, the doorway was to be removed by owner to run new electric service through a bulkhead and closed in, hay was to keep yard from washing into construction area, etc. I had to stop working for the plaintiff until funds were available and I was forced to pursue other work for incomeI will repeat "the plaintiff was the contractor in charge of the project and we wereonly the laborers".Re guards,Scott King

According to Mr. King, we didn't provide payment for himself and his workers; this is a lie, Mr. King and his 'workers' were paid at every request for funds.  He and his workers would not show up for weeks at a time, yet it seems he still expected my mother and myself to support him and his workers (who are primarily his 2 sons) even when they weren't there!  After paying Mr. King the money for concrete, and money to pay his staff at the same time (one day apart) he came back asking for more money, and we replied that we didn't have any more money; we had just discussed this the previous night.  He never showed up to finish any of the work his started; it will cost thousands of dollars to repair the mess he made of my yard; to reshingle the roof where he and his 'workers' tore a hole; to fix the wiring conduit strung across the back entry, amoung other issues including the fact that he drained my mother's life savings and when the money ran out, disappeared.  This is the first I've heard that I was the 'Contractor in charge' of this project; I did apply for the permit, as Mr. King does not have a contractor's license and was doing this job as a 'friend' (we have treated Mr. King as family for years) but I did not know that it is illegal for him to have taken on this job without a license.  He promised us he would 'make it right' and 'take care of us'; we trusted him when he said he could do this job, and paid him every time he asked for money until we ran out.  We paid him more than $25,000.00 in excess of the estimate he gave for the entire job when obtaining the building permit.
