Review: Nelson's auto tags received the title for my car on August 5th and they are telling me they do not have it. I have been told by my bank it was signed for by someone at the business and they continue to give me the run around. Their constant incompetence and habitual lack of professionalism has cost me both time and money. They have already wasted six weeks of my time and now it will take a few more weeks to register my car because the lost the only copy of my physical title.Desired Settlement: I have already been refunded my twenty dollar fee but I would like the money that I had to pay for my duplicate title reimbursed.

October 24, 2014Response to complaint registered by [redacted]We are an On-Line Auto Tag Agency located in Philadelphia. When a new Pennsylvania resident transfers his title to register his car in Pennsylvania, The title to the vehicle is the source document for the transfer. The state where [redacted]’s vehicle was previously titled does not issue the title directly to the owner if the car has a lien. In these cases we fax a notarized request to the lien holder to release the title to us so that we can transfer the title to Pennsylvania. The title is mailed directly to us and we can only hold it for about 30 days.At this point we contact the vehicle owner to come in to complete the transfer and registration process. In [redacted]’s case, we did receive the title and attempted to contact him to no avail. I recall that he came to our office and he said that he was away for several weeks due to his job. At this point the title was purged from our files to be returned to the lien holder.The title was ultimately retrieved, [redacted] was contacted and completed the transfer and registration. I am surprised by the complaint and wonder if the timing of the complaint was simply premature. In order to maintain good customer relations, we refunded the $20 titlehandling fee and he seemed satisfied.If you need further information please do not hesitate to contact us.Sincerely,Stephen M
