Review: Nero Heating & Air Conditioning of Hamden CT installed the outside air condenser units on the condominium property at [redacted]. Some of the units they installed have outside labels that read [redacted], others read [redacted] and our unit's along with another read [redacted]. On the date of 6/24/2014, Nero came to our residence for a routine service of the air conditioning unit, one prior to actually using the unit. The technician informed us that the compressor on the unit was not functioning and we would have to replace it or the entire unit. They quoted us prices for both a replacement of the compressor and for a replacement of the entire unit. After receiving this information, we contacted the company [redacted], as their badge was on the outside casing of our unit, as well as the air conditioner for the unit next to ours. [redacted] informed us that there was a 10 year warranty on the compressor and coil in their units and that our unit would be covered. The problem arose when the actual compressor inside the unit was from a different company, one only offering a 5 year warranty on the compressor and coil. The company [redacted] said they could not replace the part, as another manufacturer had created the part covered by their warranty. [redacted] sent a field technician out to confirm, in fact, our air conditioning unit did have a [redacted] badge on the outside. We have been going back and forth with these two companies for over a month. Nero Heating & Air Conditioning refuses to take responsibility for installing an air conditioning unit that has different parts, parts that have a much shorter warranty, than the outside identifying badge would indicate. We have asked Nero Heating & Air Conditioning to cover the replacement compressor as per [redacted]'s warranty. They have refused, and cannot provide us with any answer as to why they (Nero) installed a [redacted] unit with parts that were not [redacted].Desired Settlement: We would like Nero Heating & Air Conditioning of Hamden CT to replace the compressor on our air conditioning unit, as per the warranty program offered by [redacted], the manufacturer of our unit.
