BARC stole my three week old puppy and then told me pay to $550.00 to get it back.
Angry, tired (I work Full-Time and had been calling all week on every break I had, had left numerous messages with my contact information, and not gotten any return phone calls, then was so worried that I became physically ill) and was very upset, but decided to save my puppy from these thieves so I took out my checkbook.
As I was beginning to write, the Supervisor asked an employee to bring me my puppy. Ten minutes later, an employee came to the front with no puppy and talked quietly to the Supervisor. I soon learned that my puppy had been sold earlier that day to a person who lives in San Antonio.
I still kept my composure and asked the Supervisor to contact the person who was unaware that this transaction was illegal and unethical and let him know that there had been a clerical error and to return my puppy.
The Supervisor told me that if I wanted that to happen then I would have to pay for the San Antonio customer's gas, Vet fees, and any other amount of money that he spent on dog food or toys.
Enraged by what he said, I still kept my composure and agreed to his/BARC's terms for getting my stolen puppy back.
I believed him when he said that he would call the man and call me as soon as the puppy was back at BARC. He never called me and never returned any of my calls. When I returned the following Saturday to inquire about when the man was bringing MY PUPPY back, he said that he could not reach the man. Then I was asked to not return.
I was flabbergasted and justly appalled. It has been two years since this nightmare, I have not received any apology or retribution from BARC and have not seen my puppy since he was stolen off of fenced in property that had four "No Trespassing" signs posted.
I want all three of those things: A formal apology from BARC, retribution, and my puppy back.
BARC committed a crime of moral turpitude.
