[redacted] on the list of those companies wanting to continue WPM services. [redacted] did not sign a contract for continuation beyond the free trial and thus their services should have been terminated. The account of [redacted] has been credited to a zero balance, and their account was pulled from collections on Friday, February 5th.We sincerely regret the error and the lack of communication. Our Salesforce database shows us that emails did go out to the consumer requesting further information, but it is likely that they went to the consumer's spam folder as they originated from Salesforce – a common concern. We are rectifying internally our process of reaching out to customers prior to sending to collections, and now requiring contact via telephone or registered mail. Dear [redacted],I am writing in reference to complaint ID numbered [redacted]. NeuStar, Inc. (Neustar) does not compile or maintain consumer reports, or information that bears on a consumer's creditworthiness, however we hope we can be helpful.Neustar does not produce or distribute...

"consumer reports" and is not a "consumer reporting agency." As defined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (the "FCRA"), a "consumer report" is a written, oral, or other communication of information bearing on a consumer's credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living" that is used or expected to be used or collected in whole or in part for the purpose of serving as a factor in establishing the consumer's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, or other specified "permissible purposes." While Neustar does collect name, address, and telephone number information from a variety of publicly available sources, which can be used to verify consumer-provided data, it does not engage in the practice of assembling or evaluating information bearing on creditworthiness for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports and is, therefore, not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. As a result, Neustar does not possess — nor does it have access to — the consumer report, or any consumer report information. In an effort to resolve the complaint of this consumer in a satisfactory manner, we have searched our databases, compiled any information concerning [redacted] into a document I will forward to him directly, and have suppressed this data in our databases. We do not purge the data as it will simply repopulate when this data and new data flows into our databases. Suppression keeps the data, and all new data associated with his identifiers, from being distributed. While we have actively sought out and suppressed the data concerning [redacted], further information may be found by clicking on the "Opt Out" link located on the bottom of our home page at www.Neustar.biz.If any information contained in a consumer report [redacted] received is incomplete or inaccurate, he is entitled to dispute that information directly with that entity. Information concerning [redacted] privacy policies and opt out procedures may be accessed here: http://www.[redacted].com/privacy/. Neustar is only one of numerous data sources forNeustar, Inc. / [redacted] Sterling, VA [redacted]/ tel: +[redacted] / fax: +1[redacted] /www.neustar.biz[redacted]; while the information we provide to [redacted] should be purged fully from their systems within 75 days (depending on their database access and refresh cycle) it is very likely that [redacted] also receives information concerning [redacted] from multiple sources. As such, only [redacted] has direct control to suppress the information contained in their databases in their entirety.I appreciate the services of the Revdex.com in bringing this issue to our attention. Review: Company repeatedly calls and annoys and harasses trying to sell their scam servicesDesired Settlement: IMMEDIATE removal of my info from their scam list and CEASE AND DESIST ALL FURTHER COMMUNICATION

Business

Response:

December 4, 2013

Dear [redacted],

I am writing in reference to complaint ID numbered [redacted]. Upon receipt of the complaint I contacted management in the [redacted] sales department who confirmed for me that we do NOT make cold sales calls to individuals or businesses. I immediately attempted contacting **. [redacted] in an attempt to understand the nature of his concern, as I had already verified that we do NOT contact individuals or small businesses trying to “sell.” Rather than respond to my questions as to the nature of the calls he had been receiving, **. [redacted] repeatedly told me that it was a scam and we were to stop calling him trying to sell our scam services.

Upon further investigation at Neustar, I discovered that any calls placed to **. [redacted] by [redacted] as referenced in his complaint were likely calls from our [redacted] representatives in Costa Rica: their sole function is to confirm accuracy of data received from other sources. These calls are not made to sell a product or service, nor made to promote our products in any way. I have attached an excerpt from the “script” the call center team members use when placing these verification calls which further explains what they say to consumers when the phone is answered.

There is currently no listing for “Total PC Support”, at the number provided by **. [redacted], thus any call received was to ensure accuracy of his business data before it was added to the [redacted] databases; however I have requested that that phone number be suppressed from our databases as requested by the consumer. As opposed to deletion, suppression ensures that should data for **. [redacted]’s business be provided to us from an alternative data source it will never be included in our database - thus no calls will be made to ensure the accuracy of the data. I took the additional step of contacting the call center data manager directly to ensure that the phone number for **. [redacted] is being suppressed in their databases as well to ensure that he receives no further calls.

I appreciate the services of the Revdex.com in bringing this issue to our attention. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Best Regards,

Review: Neustar has refused to cancel our service. Per our contract we cancelled our service in writing within the appropriate time and Neustar has ignored our cancellation and every time we try to explain this to them they have said we will be canceled next year and we must pay for an entire year of service that we already cancelled.Desired Settlement: We would like Neustar to stop sending us billing notices for services we cancelled and not attempt to collect this money they claim we owe them any further.

Response:

November 4, 2014Dear [redacted],I am writing in reference to complaint ID numbered [redacted]. Upon receipt of the complaint I immediately contacted the customer, [redacted], through their contact designated on the complaint: [redacted] outlined the basis of their complaint and forwarded to me relevant emails from their archives.Upon further investigation I discovered that the customer had indeed sent an email, prior to the expiration of their original contract, to their sales representative wanting to “ensure that the contract did not auto-renew”.We regret that the sales representative did not know to forward that customer email to our cancellations department. We have initiated a training effort to ensure that all sales representatives know to forward ANY notification of cancellation or intent not to auto-renew directly to our cancellations department, and to cease ALL marketing and collection efforts as requested. Likewise all billing personnel have been advised of the same.We have credited [redacted]’s account in full, have marked all of their accounts and contacts in our system as “do not contact – no personal, email or direct mail solicitations” and removed their contact information from our systems. We sincerely regret any inconvenience.I appreciate the services of the Revdex.com in bringing this issue to our attention. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.Best Regards,Sherry R

Review: Nuestar intentionally downgraded my account and erased my listing without refunding my $297. This company has absolutely no customer service and they do not know what they are doing. I paid them for a premium listing on 5/24/2013. It took them over a week to finally upgrade the account from basic to premium. After I wrote some complaints online, they completely erased my listing without telling me. No refund either. I will find a more reliable companyDesired Settlement: This is the second time this company has wronged me. The first time, I paid them for an upgraded account and they failed to upgrade the account from basic to premium. As a result, I wrote some complaints online. Neustar the finally upgraded my account but only for a short time. Today I checked my account and the listing I created was gone. My account was reduced back to a basic account. This is too much. I counted on this company to follow through on their contract. Instead they act like children and intentionally deleted my listing and downgraded my account type. I want the service I paid for.
