Nevada Pain & Spine Specialist Reviews (1)

I have been treated by Dr. [redacted] for 18 years for injuries as a federal firefighter and it has been covered by the [redacted] Program. I was scheduled to move across the country on June 1st and I needed a treatment before I left. I contacted [redacted] at Dr. [redacted]'s office and she said she would get approval from [redacted] and call me with an appointment. I told her I was moving and needed to get it done before June 1. I waited about 2 weeks and didn't hear from her. I called her back and she said she hadn't gotten the approval yet. I reminded her I was on a time limit. She called me back the next day and said she had the approval and scheduled my appointment. I showed up at the appointed time and they showed me to a room. The doctor came in and evaluated me and then left the room while his nurse drew up the medication. It was at that time someone from the office came in and told me that there was a problem with the authorization and that is when the doctor came back. He wanted to know what kind of problem and they said they weren't sure of the authorization and that I needed to come back in a few weeks. I told them I was moving and couldn't come back but [redacted] had told me that she had gotten approval before she made the appointment. Since the medication was already drawn up and I was prepped, the doctor decided to go ahead with the treatment. When I talked to [redacted] afterward, she said she went into the [redacted] website and gotten the approval but now they were denying it. She said since I had gotten the treatment I would have to pay for it myself. I reminded her that I told her before she scheduled me that I could not afford it if [redacted] wouldn't cover it. She asked if I had insurance and I gave her my cards to try billing them. I contacted [redacted] and they said my claim was closed in November so she couldn't have gotten approval on the website because my info was removed in Nov. I asked why they didn't notify me that it was closed, she said they don't do that.Product_Or_Service: Medical TreatmentAccount_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementThey have collected from my [redacted] Insurance and failed to bill my [redacted], even though I have repeatedly given them my information and copies of my card and advised them to bill them. I told [redacted] that I could not afford the treatment and appointment if [redacted] did not approve it and she assured me that she had prior authorization and there wouldn't be any cost to me. If she had done her job I would not owe anything, so they should settle for what they get from insurance.Business Response This was a miscommunication on our end. We have corrected the current insurance and have billed the visit to [redacted]. The patient does not have a balance at this time.
