I am rejecting this response because:Apple Moving is correct that we did pack itemsThe items we packed were only books and clothingAny items that had the potential to be damage were left to Apple Moving since they were the professionalsThis was also the reason that we paid for the insuranceIn this case, the movers failed to pack the item properly which resulted in the breakageApple Moving stated that if I could provide a receipt or a link showing what the value of a replacement statue cost then we could submit thoseAgain, this statue was purchased over years ago, so we do not have a receiptWe looked online, and still do, searching for a replacement statue but have been unsuccessfulClearly this item is irreplaceable currently, and we do not feel the $offer is sufficientThere were other more modest breakage of items that were not claimed and the repairs were paid for by meWe still contend that reimbursement of $would be sufficient to close this matter

Mrs.[redacted] submitted a claim for a broken longhorn statue in which she claimed was broken during her move and had a value of $2,500.00. I looked at all documents regarding her move and saw that some of the items were packed by her and another portion of the items were packed by our crew. Since...

local moves normally  don’t have specific inventories as to who packed what, I proceeded to process her claim. I searched everywhere in the internet to try and find a statue like hers and possibly replace the statue. After many days of looking for the information, I was not successful. I also tried contacting the phone number located on the label under the longhorn statue. The number was no longer in service. I then proceeded to contact a local artwork gallery by the name of Artworks Gallery and spoke to a gentleman by the name of [redacted]. I explained the situation and sent him an email with all the pictures Mrs.[redacted] had provided me with. He thought that the statue could possibly be repaired so he asked for Mrs. [redacted] to take it in to their shop. I emailed Mrs. [redacted] and one of her workers, Patricia Edwards, took the statue to the shop. A couple of days after the statue was taken in, I received an email from Mr. [redacted] letting me know that the ceramic restorationist was not able to repair the Longhorn. She did her best but couldn’t come up with a solution that would look good. I  then advised Mrs. [redacted] of the situation and asked her to please pick up the statue. I also asked her for any substantiation she might have for the value of the statue. That could be a receipt or an email with the purchase order. Mrs. [redacted] did let me know she did not have a receipt or any type of substantiation for the value of the item. From there, I asked Mr. [redacted] if he could possibly provide me with an amount more or less for the replacement of the statue of like quality and kind.  He responded, “I have checked into this piece and found that the bronze version sells for $2,800 but considering that this is a cast ceramic version and an edition of 2,500 I would guess it's value at $200 to $250.” I emailed Mrs. [redacted] and provided her with a settlement amount of $200.00. She emailed me back letting me know that she paid $600.00 for insurance coverage and $200.00 would not even cover half of that amount. She advised she would accept $500.00 at this time, but must advise that if they located a statue to replace the one that was broken, she would expect our company to cover the cost in full.  I let her know our offer of $200.00 would remain the same unless she could provide me with a substantiation or a link showing the value of the statue being more than $200.00. The amount she paid for the insurance had nothing to do with the value of the statue. We are only responsible for replacing or repairing items damaged during the move not reimburse the client for the amount she had paid for services. Thank you,[redacted]
