Review: I entered into a construction contract dated 7/**/2013 with [redacted] of New Age Global builders to build my new home. During the course of the construction [redacted] made several major errors which resulted in fees paid to modify plans info to seek approval from the town. About three weeks ago [redacted] seemed to fall apart indicating that he needed more money to complete the job and that I was wealthy enough to pay him. The total amount of the contract was approximately $376,000 and [redacted] was paid $190,500. Roughly three weeks ago [redacted] seemed to fall apart and conceded that his references were a fraud and that he lied about almost everything he told me. I attempted to be conciliatory so I am not left with an incomplete home on my end. Two days ago [redacted] asked me for another advance pleading poverty and in good faith I issued him a check payment of $10,000. While on the job site yesterday morning I noticed that the subs halted work and upon asking them they indicated that [redacted] owed them a considerable amount of money. I proceeded to call [redacted] and upon calling me back he told me that he now had my money in his hands with a few inappropriate choice words. He then showed up at the work site and I had to get authorities to escort him off as a result of his actions and behavior. Needless to say I am out a considerable amount of money and I want to make sure he cannot do this to anyone else.Desired Settlement: I would like to recoup the monies paid for services not completed. Amount due is $50,000.

New Age Global Builders left this job due to the fact that the owner of the house was not cooperating with the contract. His architect was way off point on the design from the plumbing to the roofing. These mistakes, which were the homeowners and architects responsibility, resulted in a massive amount of extra expenditures to the job. In addition, the homeowner requested changes to be made which were not part of the original deal which were granted by New Age Global Builders. However, when it came to paying for these changes the homeowner came up with endless excuses in an effort to delay payment. Any city authorized engineer's assessment of this job will clearly show a home that is close to completion at a value that exceeds the amount paid to date by hundreds of thousands of dollars. The proof is in the pudding or in this case the job site. Consistent non-compliance with payment left New Age Gobal Builders with no other choice but to walk off the job.
