Review: I had taken my truck several times to New Baltimore Garage located in [redacted], for the same re-occuring electrical problem. Each time they told me it was fixed and I paid them their invoice amount. Need less to say, the truck worked for a few weeks and it broke down again with similar problem. The last time I drove the truck to their shop and I explained to them the re-occuring problem. They kept the truck for a couple of days and they called me and told me the truck is ready. When I arrived, I did not see a bill. They told me to take the truck for a test drive and then come back and pay, if I could not find any issues. On the same, about 2 hours later after I picked up the truck,. the broke down again with the same electrical issue. I called the shop and I was told to bring the truck on the next Monday. I decided to drop it off on Sunday at their drop off place. The truck broke down completely on the road. I was forced to call another towing company to tow the vehicle to the shop's lot. Early Monday morning I show up at the garage and talked to their [redacted] and their [redacted]. They told me they will call me as soon as they diagnose the problem. I never heard from them. But since my livelihood depends on this truck, I kept calling them to get some information. I finally was told that there was a problem with a wire harness which was on order. I was asked how this might cost. I was told that I will be called back with pricing. Two days later, I called them and I was told that they are in the middle of installing the harness. Once again, I asked them about cost since I needed to budget this in to my expenses. They casually told me that it would be "$3000 to $3500". I told immediately that I cannot afford this and they should have told me this massive expense before starting the job. They told me that they have already started the job and I should let them 'finish" the job and then "we can discuss the numbers". I was told that "they will work with me" on the pricing. Now they have finished the job and there is no talk about any help or discounts. I even asked them if the can break it down to 2 to 3 payments to the hit on my budget. They said no. The [redacted] of the does not even want to talk to me. Ironically, they are accepting that it was their mistake and miscommunication that I was not given an official estimate for the job. I did not give them a written authorization or even a verbal authorization for them to proceed with heavy expense. I just found out that now they are trying to put a lien on my truck. The truck is my livelihood. Without it I have no income. I need help to resolve this matter.
