New Choice Home Deco Reviews (%countItem)

I began the kitchen planning process with New Choice Home Deco in May. I provided my first deposit at the beginning of July. I took two days off work to be there for the install that was scheduled for 8/22. They let me know the day before that the cabinets weren't going to arrive on time. They brought them on 8/27 and brought stone tops on 8/29. However, there were several issues - cabinet crown molding was not installed as ordered, trim wasn't completed on refrigerator or island, one bathroom vanity was missing, pieces needed to build a hutch were missing, quartz for hutch was left on outdoor deck (it's been nearly two weeks, neighbors have complained, it's rained heavily, there are bird droppings - too heavy for me to move), cabinets for hutch left in living room, quartz top for dining table was placed on coffee table. I would like to know when my project will be completed but upon calling, emailing and texting tirelessly, nobody has given me a date or had the courtesy to return my last calls. Additionally, the pricing on my stone should have gone when I removed the fireplace but ironically, it went up and we've been unable to resolve that.

Suzanne GibbsHello ***,It is *** thank you for your assistance in closing it. While my case w/the business is not closed, the cabinet manufacturer is at fault for delaying shipments and I do not hold New Choice Home Deco accountable. They are working hard to resolve the issue. Thanks

Kitchen renovation disaster:

This business installed and glued down our kitchen floor (400 sq. ft) wrong, proceeded to remove the flooring after we told them the glue was not drying but squishing up through the seams. The worker proceeded to remove each tile, used our water hose, scrub brush, and table outside to wash the glue off (took 4 days) and intended to re-install the same glue covered tiles. The glue is now all over our front porch and front entrance and areas of our carpet because we had to walk on it until the new floor was laid- after a week of us walking on a glue covered floor-they came after our complaints to rectify this by pouring bottles of baby powder all over the floor (talc is a carcinogen) in order for us not to stick to it and ruin the rest of our home. Subsequently, we demanded the rugs be replaced and glue be removed from areas: they paid for carpet cleaning, which does not remove glue. Nothing was done to remove glue otherwise. (floor installation fee refunded and we told them we did not want the glue covered tiles re-installed because there was glue all over them- so they ordered new tiles, took 2 additional weeks)
In addition:
• 2 different cabinets ordered (colors do not match) installed and now remain forever mismatched, reported, but we really do not want to deal with this business any longer. Reported, we were told that they have some cabinets of the same color to replace but not all- Gave us a $500 discount after we requested some type of compensation.
• Cabinet handles ordered wrong and installed (resolved)
• Unprofessional, inexperienced workers- they designed the kitchen with hastiness and did not place orders correctly, measure correctly and had to constantly be reminded and corrected by us, the consumer. Husband had to oversee the whole project day to day.
• Lied to about wine glass holder- they ordered the wrong color, bought us paint and told us to paint it to match.- we reminded them to order the correct one,the wrong one was then brought back painted- hastily and wrapped as if brand new. We are still waiting on the correct one. Ultimately, after trying to give us the wrong wine glass holder we were told these particular cabinets do not come with this feature (why not just tell us this upon ordering?)
• Floor installation after removal still installed wrong, tiles laid incorrectly. Unresolved, but we really do not want these people in our house ever again.
• Cabinets not installed with the correct amount of allowable room to swing open without hitting the adjacent cabinets handle causing chipping and damage
• Cabinet with roll out shelves installed, cabinets could not roll out because the door was not able to open all the way due to mis-measurement beside oven. John, the owner, told us “you must have something stuck in the roller….” ( poor customer service). Reported and resolved - 4 months later- after sending pictures and calling numerous times
• Chips in granite counter top edges.
The renovation that was supposed to have taken 1-2 weeks took 3 1/2 months.

New Choice Home Deco Response

Dear Revdex.com,

This letter is in reference to complaint number ***.During the course of the installation process for our customer, ***, our installation crew ran into some minor occurrences that were all handled by correcting the issues or discounting from the original final installation price. New Choice Home Deco Inc. took all the necessary steps to take care of our customer during the installation. In regards to the kitchen flooring, baby powder was used in the tile removal process to avoid anything sticking to the tile glue. Baby powder is safe to use in these situations as it is not being directly breathed in and so the customers could still use the space while waiting for us to install the new tile. After installing the new tile we had a professional carpet cleaner clean all the carpet in the house, including the non affected areas. We also refunded $1150.00 the floor installation fee completely.Referencing the cabinet installation issues. After realizing that the colors were a slight shade different due to different made different time period, we replaced the customer's cabinet doors with our new batch Signature Pearls doors, which correctly match the rest. We then gave the customers a $500 discount off of the final price for the inconvenient. Referring to the claim that the cabinets were installed incorrectly, (not allowing enough room for the cabinet to open without hitting the adjacent cabinet) we were out of stock of the spice rack cabinet, so we asked the customer to substitute with a different cabinet free of charge, but the customer decided to change the layout to a bigger cabinet. As for the wine glass holder, we did not have the correct color in stock for this, as it was on backorder and still being produced. We had a custom color done for the customer as a temporary fix as we wait for the final one to be shipped to us.New Choice Home Deco Inc. uses industry standard quality of granite. Chips in the granite countertop over time happens to natural stone and in no way could be prevented by our business. Therefore, we believe New Choice Home Deco is owed the full amount of the remaining balance forthe installation for our customer, ***, and will not except the "half or less" offered to us. We are happy to wait for payment until the wine rack comes in and we install it for our customer.Thank you, Grace LNew Choice Home D
