New Country Motor Car Company Reviews (3)

Review: On July 10th my wife dropped off our pristine 1998 E320 at ** of Devon (now EuroMotorcars Devon) to have the A/C system serviced. The estimate to repair was $6,000 so my wife picked up the car that same day, and I arranged for the repair at ** of [redacted] on July 15th because their repair estimate was significantly lower. The car was not driven anywhere between July 10th and July 15th except to and from the 2 dealerships because of a heat wave and a car without A/C. The labor-intensive A/C repair was completed on July 18th and my wife picked up the car from ** of [redacted]. On the morning of July 19th while washing the car I noticed the left front wheel was damaged. I called the service advisor at ** of [redacted] and their greeter had documented the wheel damage during an inspection of our car on July 15th. On July 22nd I sent an email to [redacted], service advisor at ** of Devon, suggesting the wheel was damaged there on July 10th. After a series of emails, an inspection of the wheel damage, and ** of Devon's refusal to replace the wheel my wife dropped the damaged wheel off at ** of Devon for repair on August 14th. [redacted] was supposed to call my wife when the repair was done. That never happened and we finally got the wheel back on August 26th. The repaired wheel does not match the condition of the other immaculate wheels so on September 3rd I met with [redacted], Service Manager. [redacted] took pictures of the repaired wheel, our car and a close-up of at least one other wheel ... plus made note of the VIN because he was going to file a claim with their insurance company for a new wheel. When I emailed [redacted] on September 5th asking when the new wheel would be ready for pick-up he acted like I made up his commitment to file an insurance claim for a new wheel. Instead [redacted] is in full denial mode: 1) that the damage occurred at ** of Devon and 2) that he committed to providing me a new wheel. [redacted], the General Manager, has refused to meet me to discuss this situation so I am submitting this complaint.Desired Settlement: Yesterday (September 23rd) I ordered a new wheel from another ** dealer. We are traveling to South Carolina next week and rather than drive on the spare (which has been on the car since August 14th) I want to mount the tire from the damaged wheel on the new wheel. I have no idea how the integrity of the damaged wheel may have been compromised by the repair, and I don't want to risk any additional problems with that wheel. I want ** of Devon to pay for the new wheel, plus the cost of having the tire mounted and balanced.

RE: ID [redacted]

Dear [redacted],

I have received the compliant referenced above. We are aware of the customers concern. His car was at our dealership on 7/10/13. The car was diagnosed and an estimate for repairs was submitted to the customer. He declined the work and picked up his vehicle. Subsequently, he took the car to another dealership to have the repairs made. Later, he contacted our dealership and asserted that his rim was damaged while it was at this dealership.

As a gesture of goodwill, we offered to repair the rim. The customer brought the rim to us (It was already removed from the vehicle). We repaired the rim the next day after he brought it to us. I have attached a picture of before and after. When the customer picked up the rim, he stated that he was unhappy with the repair. He insisted that we buy him a new rim. At no point did we agree to do this. My Service Director did take pictures and record the VIN, but that was only for our own internal documentation.

The customer contacted the General Manager with his request for a new rim. The General Manager offered to have a more extensive repair done as the customer was not happy with the original repair. I believe this was a fair offer given the circumstances. The customer refused this offer. Euro Motorcars Devon has made every effort to work with this customer. However, his request for a new rim on a 15 year old car is unreasonable. We do not know where the damage occurred. Additionally, the initial repair should have been satisfactory.

re any additional questions regarding this claim, please contact me directly.

to me

[redacted], Attached is my rejection of the EuroMotorcars Devon response to Complaint [redacted]. For some reason I was unable to type in the text box on the Revdex.com website. Regards,[redacted]

Review: Sunday, August 31, 2014 I had my [redacted] towed from [redacted], PA to Euro Motors in Devon PA due to a warning light on the dash board. The tow company used the [redacted] hitch that was in the trunk of the car to screw into the bumper and towed it from the hitch onto the flatbed. I watched the car being pulled onto flat bed of truck and secured. I later went to the Dealership that night to check on the delivery of the car, removed hitch from bumper, and ensure the car was delivered safely. I noticed no dent at that time.

A few days later got a phone call with the estimated cost for repair to the suspension problem and cost for diagnostics. The person was very courteous and professional. After understanding the problem, I wanted to explore other options including sending the car back to the dealer I bought the car from 10 days prior. I picked-up the car on Thursday, September 4th and when I got home, I noticed the car was hit (minor bent) near the front wheel well where the car gets connected and elevated on the lift. I called the dealer and they denied denting it and asked me to prove that the car was damaged while at [redacted] lot. I sent them pictures and very important: The car has grease fingerprints right above the damaged area. Euro Motorcars Devon called and sent an email response stating they did not damage the car and will not take any responsibility. I asked the person to check again with technicians and review the cameras and was informed they do not have cameras on their lot. I filed a police report at the local police station just in case other people also find they have problems with them.Desired Settlement: I would like Euro Motorcars Devon to repair the dent.

I would like to respond to your correspondence regarding your 2000 [redacted]. We have reviewed the circumstances concerning your recent visit here at our dealership. It has been determined that the damage on your vehicle could not possibly have occurred by the use of our lifts. The profile of our repair lifts makes it impossible for this type of damage to occur. Therefore, we are unable to claim responsibility for your damage. Please understand we are a reputable establishment and we do take responsibility for any damage that may occur while any vehicle is in our possession. As stated you were personally involved during the tow to our shop as well as the removal tow. I would ask you to take a look at the bill of lading provided by your transporter. All professional transporters will provide a damage assessment prior to a tow. They will have the customer sign off on any previous damage that has been noted. This gives the customer the opportunity to personally inspect the vehicle prior to transportation, as well as peace of mind to know that the utmost care has been taken. Unfortunately, the dealership did not coordinate the transportation. Therefore I do not have any paper work or eyewitness accounts of the tow operation. The damage that you have pointed out to us is consistent with damage that we have previously seen due to the method the vehicle is secured to a flatbed truck. I sympathize with your situation, however I cannot be held responsible for a vehicle that was not totally in our control from the time it left your possession as well as mine.

Review: [redacted], wouldn't start, start error, tried all 4 keys, car would turn over but wouldn't start. Called Mercedes roadside assistance. Called dealer. They picked the car up with a flatbed. July 30th. Car sat for a day and a half when I received a call saying they wanted to let me know the cluster cover was damaged. I said nothing was damaged when the car left my home. Immediately went to the dealer to see what he was talking about. They showed me the cluster, this was not damaged before, either the dealer or tow company damaged it. Put in a claim, denied. Called three times concerning claim, with we will get back to you, never got back to me.In the meantime service rep said the cost of the repair would be approx. 300$,Would have to send to Germany for part. Called back a week later, the part didn't work we have to order another part, the cost will be 1500$ Have to send to Germany for part. They called back a week later, cars running but we could only get one key to work. The key was the spare key without the remote. But we can get you another key for 270 dollars. Incredible 1500 and only one key works. I asked for the defective parts, having a back round in electronics, but oh no can't do that. Picked up car on 9/11, on the way home I put the radio on, didn't work. I also noticed the lower dash panel was distorted and carpet was sticking out. They obviously removed this and didn't put it back right. Called the dealer about radio, they told me they would send a tow truck to pick up, I declined. Then they said they would pick the car up and drive it to the dealership, ok. Received call about radio, some how the radio would not play because a code would have to be put in. They told me they found the code and they would drop the car off and I could enter the code but I would have to leave the car radio on without the engine running. I said what about the battery will it go dead, he said it might, do u have a trickle charger. A true nightmare, and there's still more.Desired Settlement: I have been messing with this dealer for over a month, I bought 2 cars here you would think it would go a little smother. I need my car fixed correctly or a substantial refund. I really prefer a refund so I can get the repairs done somewhere else.
