[redacted]   Good afternoon I'm emailing in response to the complaint attached. This complaint is regarding a $100...

deposit that this customer put down as a payment to secure a vehicle they were interested in purchasing for a 3 day period. We then worked very hard with our lenders to secure a better interest rate that the customer was quoted from our own finance company. We exceeded her expectations by proving her a better interest rate than her current lender. After all of that work, the customer came back to the store unannounced at 7p and demanded her deposit back as she was no longer interested in the car. I explained that our accounting dept closes at 5p and she would have to return during normal business hours. the situation escalated where she contacted the police and I was very clear with the police officer, that I have no problem giving back the customers $100 deposit that we used to put a car on hold for 3 days, but the police officer explained to her that she cannot go onto social media to defame my store. She went ahead with posting a negative on [redacted] anyway. As I've stated before I have no problem returning her deposit, but expect her inaccurate negative review to be removed before her deposit is returned.  I would like to remedy this situation asap.   Please let me know if you need any additional information.   Thanks [redacted]

On January 13, 2016, my son and I went to New England Auto World to look at a used car for him. Having previously gone to their site to view their inventory, and seeing that they had a [redacted] listed for $4,742(which is still listed!), I contacted them via their website asking if the car was still available and if we could test drive it. I was contacted by one of their sales people who said “I have included some information on your car of interest, as well as several other options below that I think might interest you.” The sales person and I arranged to meet on January 13 so that we could look at and test drive the car.
We got to the dealer’s showroom that evening and met the sales person. We went into her office and before we even started talking about the [redacted], the owner came in, introduced himself and started telling us about a [redacted] for over $10,000.00 (more than double what I wanted to spend!) that had just come in as a trade. Then he started talking about financing it and because he knew I was going to pay cash said if I used the $6,000 as a down payment my son could finance the car, his payments would only be about $100 a month and he could build a credit rating. He said they had some great finance deals going on and would go double check his figures to make sure his numbers were correct.
He left the office at which point I asked the sales person “What about the [redacted]”? She then also started talking about the [redacted]. Every time I asked a question about the [redacted] she would quickly answer but then divert the attention back to the [redacted]. Finally I asked if they had the [redacted] on site. She said yes. I then asked if we could see it. She said yes. I then asked if we could test drive it and she said NO because it was in bad shape. She said it was in for service because it needed a lot of work. I said I wanted to see the car anyway. She finally got the keys for the [redacted]. She then led us through the service department and out the back door. Parked on the far side of a dumpster, in the dark was the [redacted] that I had contacted them about.
At that point, I told her I had had enough, that we had been the victims of a bait and switch and that she had just lost a sale. She started apologizing and saying she didn’t know about the [redacted] but didn’t I want to see the 2009???
My son and I left and drove home. I was barely in my house when my cell phone rang with an out of state number. I answered and it was the owner calling to give me a hard time about what had just happened at his showroom! He told me he heard I had used the term bait and switch, that no bait and switch had occurred and that I should look up the definition before I used the term. I know what a bait and switch is but according to Merriam Webster dictionary a bait and switch is: a selling method in which a customer is attracted by the advertisement of a low-priced product but then is encouraged to buy a more expensive one.
He said he was only trying to offer me another option. I suggested he should have waited for me to ask him for one. I finally hung up on him because of the things he was saying!
I know they say “Let the Buyer Beware” but in this case it applies to the dealer as well as the merchandise.

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW BEFORE EVEN THINKING ABOUT PURCHASING A VEHICLE FROM THIS PLACE! ALWAYS REMEMBER EVERYTHING THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD!!!
My name is [redacted] and I purchased a Silver 2007 [redacted] on August 24, 2015. I read the reviews and thought wow this place must be pretty awesome. I first contacted them through an inquiry for a different [redacted] but when I met with Travis that specific vehicle was no longer available. When I showed up for my appointment on August 20, 2015 Travis had the car I purchased a few others brought up to the front. They ran my credit and I was approved. Now to the interesting part, I test drove the car that I purchased as well as burgundy [redacted]. The other car sounded and felt like crap but he ensured me that if I planned to purchase either vehicle they would make sure that everything was fixed before allowing me to drive it. I decided not to get the burgundy vehicle and to purchase the silver [redacted] that drove and sounded better. So he told me that he could have the car would be $7,500 which I did not want to pay because I came there with a cap of $7,000. We negotiated the price and he told me that I could get it for $7,000. I thought sweet deal I planned to put $1,500 down on the car which would bring the car to about $5,500 not including taxes and interest. I advised Travis that I did not want to add on the VIN ETCH (WHICH I FOUND OUT LATER WAS ADDED TO MY BILL). I spoke with Eddie (Financial Manager) he advised me that my payment would be $212 and I would also have a warranty. I thought I was dreaming and was so excited that everything worked out for me. So I agree left my down payment and was told that my car would be ready no later than Monday, August 24, 2015. I showed up on August 24, 2015 to sign the paperwork and pick up the car. I notice the extra charges for the VIN ETCH so I let that slide but what I didn’t notice until I was home was that they added some “additional charges.” I knew something was up when Eddie told me that my monthly payments had increase to $232.00 but I just could not place my finger on it at that time. Travis took me to gas station to put $15 worth of gas in the vehicle as we rode there the car made a weird rumble noise and vibrated. He told me that when we got back to the location that he would take it to the service manager to see what was wrong with it. That he did and somehow the noise disappeared so I drove home. When I got home I went over the paper work and notice that I was overcharged a $1,000. I called texted Travis first thing in the morning on August 25, 2015 to inform him that it was a mistake made on my paperwork to have Eddie call me. I also called the office and left a message at 8:34am. I called back at 9:44am and spoke to Eddie until 9:57 about why I was charged an extra $1,000. What he said over the phone didn’t make sense to me. So I advised him since I was picking up my tags could speak about it once I came in around 6pm. So approx. 6:10 I showed up at New England Auto World to speak with Eddie. He stated that I was charged a banker fee because of my credit history but my point was why wasn’t I made aware of this fee. I ask for him to show me where they charge a 1,000 fee he show me that the [redacted] Auto Finance charge them $595 so I asked where did the $405 go. He started to offer me a job and try to make light of the situation but I was pissed from that point on I felt that I could not trust this company. He apologize for not making me aware of the fee but all the while never told me where the $405 magically appeared from. He stated how he did me a favor of getting me a warranty which I am paying for. I express to him I felt I got scammed because not only was I overcharged but my car was making weird noises again. He told me to bring the car back the next day that he would have the service manager check out the car and gave me “his word” that he would make sure the car was good to drive. He even stated that he test drive the car to make sure it ran properly and didn’t make any more noises. THIS WAS ALL COMPLETE [redacted]! LET ME JUST SAY THAT IT IS 9/15/2015 NOT EVEN THIRTY DAYS OF ME HAVING THE VEHICLE AND AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK YESTERDAY IT STARTED TO OVERHEAT. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP 8AM THIS MORNING AND RECEIVE A CALL BACK AT 9AM SAYING THAT MY RADIATOR WAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES WITH A COST OF $430.60. I CALLED THE NEW ENGLAND AUTO AT 9AM TO FIND OUT WHAT MY WARRANTY COVERED. I SPOKE WITH TRAVIS AND TOLD HIM WHAT I WAS TOLD FROM THE SHOP HE STATED THAT HE WAS UNSURE THAT I HAD TO SPEAK WITH EDDIE AND HE WOULD NOT BE IN UNTIL 10AM. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE WOULD TALK TO THE SERVICE MANAGER BECAUSE THE PRICE THEY ARE CHARGING ME SEEM OUTRAGEOUS AND THAT THIS WAS A RESULT OF NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR OF THE VEHICLE. I STATED THAT IT WAS NO WAY I PUT TWO CRACKS IN A RADIATOR IN LESS THAN A MONTH. HE STATED THAT HE WILL CALL ME BACK BY 11AM. IT IS NOW 5:21 PM AND I HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD FROM TRAVIS, EDDIE OR NEW ENGLAND AUTO WORLD! THIS IS HORRIBLE BUSINESS AND I FEEL THAT THEY ARE JUST A MONEY HUNGRY COMPANY THAT ONLY CARES ABOUT GETTING RID OF THEIR [redacted] CARS AND CONTRACTS. STAY AWAY FROM THEM I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT YOU WILL BE GLAD THAT YOU DID!
