We used NE Chimney last year to do a few repairs; we got their name from looking on line. We found them to be incredibly accommodating and reasonable. We hadn't had the chimney cleaned in a while and thought it might need a cleaning. They inspected it and told us that we needed a bit of repair but that we didn't need a cleaning. Frankly, that made me think that they were reputable; we were fully prepared to pay for a cleaning and they knew that. We called them after a home inspection was done for a house sale. In spite of the fact that they were very busy, Susan went out of her way to schedule us and get the work done before our closing. We had to reschedule due to weather and she still went out of her way to make sure our work was done in time for the closing. It wasn't just about the work at this point, it was about our anxiety level regarding getting everything done in time to submit to the lawyers for the closing. On top of all of this, our realtor sent someone over to give us an estimate; she said she has worked with him a lot. The other contractor's estimate was almost 3x the estimate that NE Chimney gave us-this is not an exaggeration. He was going to charge us for the use of his 20 and 40 foot ladders on top of the work. I would highly recommend these folks for their integrity, good workmanship and customer service!
