whether or not the policy has been delivered to the insured. Typing and delivery of the policies to the consumer took l[redacted]er than anticipated due to internal staffing issues. I am informed that those issues have been resolved and policies are being provided to the insureds more quickly than occurred with regard to these transactions.The consumer also alleged that a discrepancy in identification of the owner for approximately 3 to 4 months following close of escrow was a mistake by Old Republic Title. As explained in separate correspondence, each county in the State of Hawaii maintains its own tax records. I am informed Kauai does not update its tax records immediately upon the Bureau’s recording of a deed. The County of Kauai processing consists of phases that results in the billing address being updated separate from the owner’s name. I am informed by the County of Kauai Tax Assessor’s office that the billing address is updated upon receipt of copies of conveyance documents from the title company. The “Owner Name” is updated following receipt of documents directly from the Bureau of Conveyance. Those documents are generally received 2 to 3 months following the recording and the updating of the website is completed approximately 1 month following receipt of the documents. I am informed that the County of Kauai Tax Assessor records now accurately reflect the consumer as the owner of the subject property and the consumer’s billing address.Based upon the company’s investigation of the consumer’s concern, the company declines the consumer’s demand for compensation.
