On Saturday, October 7, 2017, around 11:a.m., I signed a "contract" to have Bill H*** dba New England Masonry & Contracting of Gilmanton do repair work on our chimney
This "contract" was handprinted on a paper entitled "Contractors (sic) invoice."
I gave MrH*** a check for $as a down payment for work to be doneUnfortunately, when he came, we had just arrived home and a relative came shortly afterward to do a few things for usI was rushed at the time and while I felt uncomfortable with the situation, signed the "contract" anywaySince the "contract" had no place for a signature, MrH*** instructed me to sign at the bottom of the paper and he would initial it
Within a few hours, my husband and I had too many misgivings about the projectAt 6:p.m., I called MrH*** to say we wanted to cancel the projectHe did not answer, I left a message to call me please, and he returned my call at 9:that night
MrH*** said he would have to return
