New England Power Equipment Reviews (1)

Since early 2000 I have purchased the following items for NEPE: [redacted] generator, hand held leaf blower, [redacted] leaf blower, [redacted] zero radius tractor (x2). I recently traded in an older [redacted] radius tractor for a new model. The whole process from the day I walked into the dealership was frustrating. Under the contract for my old tractor I had pre-purchased 3 home pick ups for maintenance and repair. The manager (dave) was extremely frustrated about this even after I provided proof of purchase and the plan number (maint plan #[redacted] on serial #[redacted]). After Dave and the sales person Adam decided to pick up my tractor for free and quoted me $700-800 in repairs I offered to trade in the [redacted] for a newer model. I was very happy with the trade in allowance they gave me and [redacted] Financing is a breeze to work with. Adam was very helpful. So at this point I thought we were all set. NEPE could not transfer the spot light from the old tractor to the new so they threw that in free of charge and they let me have the old battery from the old [redacted] which I greatly appreciated. All good. However, and this is why I am writing this review, the quality of the workmanship of how the guys who prepped the new tractor for delivery and use was horrendous. They failed to include a bold to hold up the cut deck on the left hand side, so on the maiden voyage I scalped my lawn and hit a rock that seemed to destroy the blade and spindle on the left hand side. To NEPE's credit, they came out, free of charge, picked up the tractor (actually to put on the light kit also) and seemed to have done the once over on the chipped blade and I did notice they added the bolt to hold the deck up at the proper level. BUT!! they left the belt off the spindle so when I engaged the cut deck it smoked and almost broke. I can't tell you how incredibly disappointed I am with NEPE. They are local guys, good guys and I refuse to buy from Box stores or large chains but this level of service and lack of attention to detail is totally alarming for me. As a consumer (not a professional landscaper) I could not and will not every recommend NEPE to anyone I know. I can't believe that after working on something that you can't just start it up and test the assembly work you have just completed? The owner, Ted (I believe that is his name) needs to know this is not a joke that people enjoy using local vendors but expect a higher level of customer service and quality. My work phone is ###-###-#### call me anytime. Thank you, [redacted]
