In regards to the complaint made against New England Remodeling from *** *** *** regarding the work at ** *** *** *** **, New England Remodeling had given an initial estimate for this projectwe retained a plumber to do the plumbing portion of the project , our plumber noticed
some additional things that may be required (the customer was in fact ensured that the property would pass inspection if final plumbing costs where okayed despite complaint saying that they were not ensured)This is the cause for the increase in cost, and it is a cost over and above the scope of work in the initial proposalInstances like these are standard occurrence in General Contracting, new details come to light, and additional costs are then added to the contract valueThe initial additional costs for the plumbing was, in our opinion a bit highWe proceeded and offered a second opinion from another plumber we do alot of work withWe were ensured and made the customer aware that the costs would be much lower and other offers were involvedThe customer was away for weeks out of the country and unavailable to discuss till he got backAlso he asked for some time to speak with his landlord and another plumber as well" previous plumber who installed existing sinks I believe", which took some timeSo the delay wasn't all on usThe Customer then decided to try to terminate our contract and asked for a refund of their deposit although we had already accrued costs with plans, some supplies etc etc. It is New England Remodeling Position that this deposit is non refundable "stated in contract"and that we are under no obligation to refund any of the depositWith that being noted, we would be willing to offer refund of the deposit minus SOME of our incurred costs which we emailed to the client at his requestEverything he asked for we provided even though were not required toWe offered an amicable resolve" something both parties are comfortable and agreeable too"We asked to schedule a phone call to discuss an amicable number and a mutual resolveOur costs totaled (5,691) out of a deposit of 6,leaving dollars and feel that a refund of 3,would be fair for all partiesWe are willing to issue this at any timeWe would also seek along with mutual dissolution of contract an anti disparagement agreement for both partiesAlso It was noted on the complaint that I was listed as the salesperson but was notTimothy was the salesperson on that jobIt is also worth noting that at the time of initial contact with this client, New England Remodeling had made no claim of Revdex.com accreditationThe logo was mistakenly added to the website around june if by the website creator and we had it removedSo any insinuation that this is why this client did business with New England Remodeling, would not make sense to usNot saying that was the intended implication, but felt the need to clarifyThere is much more that I could write in our defense but as I had mentioned time and time again in email to clientWe do not wish to go "tit for tat", or back and forth on this and seek an amicable resolveThankyou
