Review: We were displaced out of our home, due to severe water damage by a bad roofing job on our condo building.

[redacted], the employee who came install our wood flooring, said that he would finish the installation on a given day. He would have installed 1000 sq ft of flooring. He charged me extra to install flooring on a set of three steps, in addition to the cost of glue to use for the job. I gave him a check for $2327, withholding the final $500 of the total job until he finished. [redacted] only installed 752 sq ft of flooring., and then went AWOL. He often did not return my calls or text messages. On the rare occasion he said he would come to finish, he did not come or call.

Ultimately, we brought in someone else to finish the job.

[redacted] earned $1606 for the installation and glue used ($2/sq ft installed + 3 tubs of glue used/$30/each). He cashed the check I gave him, which was $721. more than he deserved.

Additionally, he did a shoddy job. He over cut the door frames at the bottom so that there is a big gap between the flooring and the door frame. Additionally, there are loose floor boards in the kitchen which will need to be fixed. The flooring person who finished the job said that the repair kit is expensive. I don't yet know those costs.Desired Settlement: Given how untrustworthy he has been, we simply want a refund for the amount he owes us ($721), in addition to having him pay for the fix of the poorly installed kitchen floorboards (expense to be determined).
