In response to *** *** complaint;? When I first met *** and *** *** they were having a "falling out" with their general contractor.? I came on board to do the landscaping project as we discussed on our initial walk thru.? The scope of the work included the large front
side hill, back south side yard and we discussed doing the interlocking pavers for their driveway.? As it turned out- they decided not to do the paver driveway, as it seemed they had ran out of money.? As they explained to me how much they were being taken advantage of by previous contractors, I truly believed them and upon their request even helped manage their project with referrals to trades etc...*** and *** *** were completely satisfied with the landscape work performed.? I have several messages and texts supporting this evidence.? In fact they were ecstatic with the work and stated themselves how pleased they were with everything.? That is until they decided to not pay their remaining balance.? They site that they went over their budget on material costs- which I gave to them at my contractor pricing 30-50% off retail costThey actually paid my suppliers directly.? I made zero mark up on all materials purchased on their jobBasically they didnt pay for any of the planting labor- which I had to set over trees by excavator and the plant list was quite large taking about a week to install.? I was also given authorization to prep the upper driveway and cut out the existing earth to broaden the driveway- a task that was to be done by the previously fired contractor.? Upon completion of this work and prepping for concrete footings and slabs, (which was not in our scope of work) they refused to pay for this as well.? *** and *** had a small punch list for me to complete- including regrading the top soil for the lawn area, which we already did once before, but other trades were working their after we left.? But I repaired that zone and also fixed a few spray nozzles for their sprinkler system.? I did this punch list, despite of not getting paid.? I was told by *** that they were waiting on the bank to inspect and sign off on the landscape.? Which I believe to be false, as there is no record of a construction loan on their property as far as I can tell.? And also, any bank would sign off on a large planted area with big trees and hundreds of plants.? *** *** has made accusations against my company and it is complete slander and defamation of character.? The project was completed back in June of 2017, and it wasnt until January that *** *** decided to make his claims.? Why you might ask?? Well its pretty apparent that he did not want to pay his bill, and instead is making accusations to try to get out of it.? There are also several other trades that I am aware of that have also not been paid as well.? Regarding his complaint about contractors license; I simply didnt receive my renewal notice in the mail and was completely unaware that it had expired.? When I learned of this, I went into the L and I office and paid the $renewal fee and actually had a conversation with the L and I staff about perhaps issuing a better method to notify contractors of license renewal, ie email or text message reminders.? The folks in the L and I office agreed as they stated its a constant recurring problem.? As my attorney has informed me, I had done nothing illegal or purposefully misleading.? My bond and insurance were in good standing, so everything was done in good faith.? I have several messages both in emails and texts supporting the true "evidence" in this case.? I would be happy to send you everything to your office for further review.? In closing, in all of the years Ive been in business- dating back to 1999, I have never had one complaint.? I am a single father of that works very hard to feed my family, and a complaint like this is both malicious and unfair, and most importantly not true.?
