Review: I originally spoke to a guy named [redacted] of New Hope Tax Services in March of 2015 about helping me get my tax issue resolved with the IRS. [redacted] told me that in order for them to help me I would need to pay $495.00 for their services and he was certain they could definitely get my issue resolved with no problems. I paid the whole amount and a guy named [redacted] was supposed to have been working on my case. When I would call to check on the status of my case I would get the runaround sometimes and nothing was never resolved. When I called in August 2015 I was told that a new lady was taking over my case and that her name was [redacted] and that she was taking Brent's place as if this was a new employee. So they said they will have her call me. It wasn't until yesterday 09-27-15 that I finally got a call from this lady [redacted] and she explained in great detail what was going on. This lady [redacted] said that she has taking over the company New Hope and had done so since July 2015. New Hope has not even parted their lips to any of the clients about this and I also found out that the guy [redacted] who was supposedly working on my case was no longer with the company as of August 2015. To me the whole set up is just messy and I feel that since New Hope could not follow through with their services in my case, I feel that it is only fair that they refund my money in the amount of $495.00. This was totally not what they promised in the beginning and I even called [redacted] on his phone number at [redacted] and I left him a voicemail message stating to him that I wasn't pleased with the service and I want my money back. I still have not heard from him yet. It appears like they are running a scam on their clients. They are taking money and not providing the services they offered.Desired Settlement: I just want my money back in the amount of $495.00 because they did not do anything on my case and I don't have money to throw away for a service they did not provide.

Review: I enlist the service of this company to help with our tax problems, December 2014 my husband and I had not file taxes in over 5years once the collection notices came in and after searching I thought new hope tax was the company for Their pitch man name [redacted] reach out to me and I was able to work with them, the gentleman handling our was [redacted] in July of 2015 the last time I spoke to [redacted] he was in the process of working out a payment arrangement with the IRS he had set up a program, and was to start with the state I was ask if I could pay at least $100 a month for 72 months and I said yes, I waited for a month I called [redacted] because my husband wanted to know when we were going to start making I got no response from him after 3 attempt and one email I got a response from [redacted] telling me [redacted] was no longer with the company. I then spoke with [redacted] and that's we I was told that the owner was selling the company they are stilling working on my case and the new company will get in contact with me. That was back in August, I have not heard from anyone and now I have a tax lien against me from New York state and a bill from IRS as well please help me. Review: I had hired this company to help me with my back taxes over the phone in Sept. or Oct. of 2012. They had told me that they would stop the IRS from garnishing or taking money from me until they resolve my case with the IRS. So, I agreed to pay them 1495.00 for their services. Then, in Mar of 2013, I received a notice from the IRS that I wasn't going to receive my refund because of my back taxes. So, I immediately called then to find out what happened. I spoke with [redacted] and she told me didn't I know this was going to happen. Then, I told her NO because no one had told me this was going to happen. So, we grebbled over who was at fault. She finally concurred that they were at fault!Desired Settlement: I would like them to return my money and resolve my taxes with the IRS.

Business' Initial Response

This will respond to Mr. [redacted]'s inquiry to the Revdex.com. We are grateful for this opportunity to respond to Mr. [redacted]'s false allegations. His allegations are not supported by the contents of his client file.

Date of Hire

Mr. [redacted] claims to have hired New Hope Tax in "September or October 2012." Mr. [redacted] hired New Hope Tax in November 2012.

Initial Communication with New Hope Tax

Mr. [redacted] claims that our company told him that we would "stop the IRS from garnishing" his wages or levying his bank account until we resolved his case with the IRS. We never told Mr. [redacted] this in any telephone conversation. All calls with our company are recorded and this was never communicated to Mr. [redacted]. In fact, Mr. [redacted]'s service agreement with New Hope states the following:

Client acknowledges that New Hope has made no promises or guarantees to Client about anything related to Client's matter.

Payment of $1495 for Fees

Mr. [redacted] agreed to pay New Hope Tax $1495 to assist him with his tax problem. Due to his failure to pay his fees timely to the firm, the firm terminated its representation with the IRS in April 2013. Mr. [redacted] breached his contract with the firm.

IRS Keeping His Tax Refund

Mr. [redacted] claims New Hope Tax somehow was at fault for the IRS keeping his 2012 tax refund. First, the firm never promised nor told Mr. [redacted] that he would receive his 2012 refund. Additionally, the IRS kept his 2012 refund and applied it to his US Department of Education Student Loan debt. This student loan debt is not related to his IRS debt nor did Mr. [redacted] hire us to help him with his student loan debt. There was nothing the firm could do to prevent his tax refund from being kept and applied to his student loan debt.

As you can see, Mr. [redacted]'s allegations are false and baseless. The bottom line is that New Hope Tax properly represented Mr. [redacted] before the IRS and he is upset because we terminated his representation because he failed to pay our fees.

Consumer's Final Response

In response to their response, I disagree with the following:

I still stand by, I was not aware or told by them that the IRS would garnish my refund because we never had a consultation other than they would stop the IRS from garnishing or taking any money until they resolve my case with them. Also, per [redacted] concurred after our conversation over the phone when I spoke the last time with them. She even gave me options for them to work with them and not pay the remainder of what I owed them or they would refund my money and stop working for me. This ensued heated debate or grebbling on my part because I felt they were in the wrong by not telling me the process for which this would happen. obviously, she agreed not verbally, but by her actions over the phone.

Business' Final Response

New Hope Tax Relief strives to provide outstanding customer service to all its clients. To that end, we have refunded all monies Mr. [redacted] has paid to the firm. We trust this resolves all issues favorably for Mr. [redacted].

I would like to thank all the staff at new hope tax relief. A plan was put together, and they followed through with everything that was told to me. Big thumbs up to NEW HOPE TAX. MANY THANKS. [redacted]

Review: I signed up for service with New Hope Tax Relief on February 28 2014 and me and my wife thought that we heard over the radio that they could stop the garnishment in 24 hours but we did make a mistake. So to make a long story short it took them two weeks to e-mail us for info to stop the garnisment they called serveal times and by that time my wife was feed up with everything and so was I because they said some kind of maniger I believe would be calling us we wated two days for that and when he call he said they could probaly stop the garnishment for 30 days after [redacted] told us that he is sure it could be put on the back shelf for two years. so then after I told the manger that we just wanted to cancell service ans we sent out an e-mail stating that we would like all services to stop we were told by [redacted] that we had to wait 30days because the manger had been on the phone with the IRS for a hour in a half that they had to see if we were intilted to a refund and they would let us know in thrity days he was very rude and not business like we asked for all the recordings as he sent just the one from the radieo station and when I first sighed up with him I aske for all the recordings of the IRS call and he stated we would not be getting anymore recordings from him. After I got off of the phone with them my wife said why don't you just call the IRS so I did was on the phone with them no longer than ywenty to 30 minutes and got things resolved myself this company is a RIP OFF and I would like my refund back because they did not do any woirk on my be half I will be also callinfg the IRS to see if they called to speak with them since [redacted] did not send out that recording to me.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of $ 295.00 ASAP

Response:

Mr. [redacted], it was communicated to you that we would review your request for a refund and it has been determined that you are not entitled to any refund. After we received your signed fee agreement dated March 3rd, 2014, New Hope Tax went directly to work on your case. The following is a list of work that was done on your case before you made unfounded accusations regarding a 72 hour promise to stop your wage garnishment. You stated that you heard us tell you that your wage garnishment would be stopped in 72 hours in the initial consultation, and you stated that is was also in the radio advertisement that you heard. Of course you were provided recordings of both the initial consultation and the radio ad, and there was no such verbiage at all about any 72 hour promise that you indicated. Never once did you admit to being wrong, and that you must have heard it somewhere else? No you just continued to make threats and never once acknowledged that there was no mention of anything to do with a 72 hour promise in any of the calls or radio advertisement.
