Attached are the letters we send out to Ms. [redacted] that lead to our decision to withdrawal our services.  I would like to provide you with a little background on the situation.  I...

started as the Center Director on March 17th, 2014.  A few changes were made as a result to the change in management.  Parent fees were an issue in the past, now there were being ask to pay the fees in a timely manner.  Ms. [redacted] was not happy about being asked to pay and gave me a difficult time, another time we asked the families to take the children's blankets and washed them at the end of each week. Again, she had a issue with that. She indicated that to many things have changed since I became the new Center Director.  I've tired to work with Ms. [redacted], but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to make her happy.  In regards to the Playground incident, there were some rough edges on the equipment on May 30th, 2014. when she mentioned that [redacted] had a splinter in his finger we had the equipment repaired on Saturday May 31,2014.

Attached, are all the letters that we gave to Ms. [redacted].  Also, the Dept of Family and Child services came out to the center on June 10th, 2014.  In response to Ms. [redacted] complaint. They found that the play equipment was safe and free of loose wood slivers.

RE: Parent/ Provider
Differences
Date: May 30, 2014

On May 12, 2014, [redacted], a parent at The
New Horizon Day Care Center, came into the school age room an inquired if we
did fire drills.  I ([redacted])
answered “yes”, we did one today.  She
left the area, came back about 3 seconds later and asked why the preschool
children were not in their room.  I told
her on days when we are low I combine the classes, still leaving both teachers
in the room.  She then started to tell me
that she didn’t know why she had to wash her child’s blanket, I told her that
it was no longer the teacher’s responsibility and the families must take their
blankets home every Friday. She went on to say that things have changed in the
last 2 months and she didn’t like it. I was in the school age room and did not
feel it was appropriate for her to continue the conversation in front of the
children.  She would not leave, so I
turned my attention to the Infant class.
She then left the center.
On May 29, 2014, [redacted] called the center
to say that her son [redacted] had a splinter in his thumb.  We apologized because we were not aware.  She came in Friday, May 30, 2014 she spoke to
Ms. Latoya about the splinter in [redacted]’s thumb, she went on to say that he
could not go outside and if she found out he went outside that would be a
problem.  She also was pointing at Ms.
[redacted] and raising her voice.
She also indicated that her Lawyer said the child didn’t have to go
outside and if he did he would file a motion.
Ms. [redacted] told her that [redacted] was not sick he would have to go
outside with his class, she also, gave Ms. [redacted] the option of taking [redacted]
home.  She said she was not taking him
home and he better not go outside.  In
light of the current events, we’ve decided to release Ms. [redacted] from The
New Horizon Day Care Center.
Although we have enjoyed having her children as part of the family, we
feel we can no longer meet her needs.
