This apartment complex failed to repair my heating and air conditioning unit over the course of 2 full years and numerous complaints and work orders. I moved into this complex in May 2013. From the very first month, I had problems with the air not circulating throughout the house. The first couple of work orders that I put in regarding this matter received a poor response. The first guy they sent, did not do a single thing. He looked around the unit, told my roommate and I that he would return the next day, but he never showed up. After days without a followup, we contacted the office to try addressing the issue again. The second time, they sent a different guy who unnecessarily cut 2 huge holes in our ceiling and wall because he could not locate the vent in the 3rd bedroom. He left without patching up the holes, so there was air pouring out into that room for several weeks until we begged them to come fix it. After all of this, winter comes around and the house is completely freezing unless you turn the thermostat up to almost 80 degrees. We asked maintenance to come out numerous times. It seemed that every single time we called to the office to submit a work order, no one was actually putting the information into the system. Therefore, we were waiting weeks for people to show up but they never did. Finally, after going up to the office physically, we were told that no work orders were on file. Then, when they could finally schedule us in, we were told that we would have to be home whenever they had to come because they had lost the office's copy of our key to enter the apartment while we were at work during the day. Needless to say, we received monthly light bills of over $600 due to our broken heating unit trying to overwork itself to heat the house up to a normal desired temperature (72-75 degrees). When we brought this to the apartment's attention after speaking to our local electric company, nothing was done about it. Basically, we went in circles with this company over and over until I moved out on the last day of April 2015. When turning in our keys, one of the leasing agents verbally spoke the words "yeah they were in the unit that was messed up." So they confirmed there was a problem with our unit but never bothered replacing it or doing anything for that matter. Over the course of 2 years, we spoke with numerous employees trying to resolve this issue among several others (dishwasher, bugs/rodents, stopped up stains, etc). It seems that nothing we ever complained about was on file. And to top everything off, I referred a friend to these apartments because she had nowhere else to go. I have yet to receive my $100 referral check, and every time I ask about it no one can tell me when or if it is even coming. In addition to service issues, my car was vandalized while living there. Security was notified but nothing was done. Desired SettlementI would like my referral check asap. I would also like my security deposit back considering all of the trouble this place took me through. And I would also like to be formally addressed by the person who owns the apartment (Not the onsite manager who claims to be in charge because she never resolved ANYTHING).
