New Horizons Computer Learning Centers of Allentown Reviews (1)

September 7, 2017To whom this may concern,We have reviewed the letter sent to us in August by the Revdex.com from the student *** ***Before writing this response, we tried to contact the customer to work something out, but he has not responded backThis is the same thing we go through every
time with this student. We enrolled the student on February 2nd, in the CNST Program, a course program and Hours, roughly a 5-month program, his end date was 7-28-15, The customer was progressing through the courses with us and then started missing several classes in June On June 18th, he emailed us stating he would come back in two weeks (7/2/2015), we never heard from him again, On July 18, after contacting the customer several times, we emailed him letting him know that the end of his program was approaching in a week and we were willing to work with him if he contacted us as soon as possible, (Please see attached letter-dates 7-18-15) unfortunately we did not hear back from the customerIn compliance with the state requirement, we have to close out a students file after days from their last attendance and non contact, Also, according to the refund policy the customer signed and approved by the state, if the student is over 50% of the completed hours there is no refund warrantedThe student was 72% completedWe tried to communicate with the customer to avoid this but with his non response; unfortunately we had no choice but to remove him from the programIf the student simply communicated with us, we could have placed him on a "personal hold" which he needed to sign and he could have continued at a later date.Several months later the student contacted us and asked if we can allow him to take his last and final class on-lineAt that point, the students file was closed out and we were not obligated to do anything, instead, we went ahead and granted his request and spent additional money and purchased him the on-line course to help him out and meet his training goalsNeedless to say the student did not take advantage of that class we purchased for him and he did notcomplete the course.Fast forward two years later the first time the student has contacted usThe customer asked us the status on his training and we explained and reviewed the file with him as stated above, Besides not being eligible for a refund, he also is clearly beyond the one year date for any consideration for us to assist, since technical certifications changeThis is also stated clearly in the handbook. The student refers to a community college giving you years to complete, not true. If the student would have not showed for classes he would have failed the course and would have had to pay again to re-take the course. At New Horizons we pride ourselves in providing the best training for our students and empowering them to make the best out of their training and careersOur web site will show you endless testimonials of how we helped students succeedWe would've loved to see the customer finish and graduate from their training program but under these circumstances we did everything possible by the state guidelinesWe even went above and beyond by purchasing him on-line course which he never took advantage ofClearly if the student would have just communicated with us on the over 20+ times we reached out to him, things could have worked out differentlyPlease let us know if you need any further information from us.Proposed Resolution: As the customer stated in his letter, for a year and a half, he had Drug, alcohol and legal troubles and did not contact usTo help him with a fresh start, meet his training and career goals we will give him on-line access to the CompTIA course he did not finish and no additional charge.Best regards,New Horizons Management Team
