This office uses very dishonest business/insurance pratices. By their own admission, I am not the only patient to feel this way.
On Feb 6, 2014, I made my first visit to the dental office of J [redacted] dds in [redacted] for an emergency tooth problem. Prior to this visit, I had spent a fair amount of time on the phone with the office staff, making sure their office was "in network" with my insurance company. Again, on this visit, I revisited with both the women in the office, making sure this information was correct. On Feb 17th, I revisited the dental office and wrote a check for $900 and was reassured that I would be reimbursed for the overage when the insurance paid their portion.Now, after the insurance has paid, I am being told that their office is NOT "in network" and I owe $230 more. Interestingly enough, the amount they want me to pay is over the amount they would charge someone without insurance.??? They also insist that I was never told I was "in network" and the Dentist refuses to adjust my bill in any way. He just says I need to "just pay up". In addition, the office staffer told me that she had had this same problem with other employees from the company I work for ([redacted]). She said "They had not changed their bills and would not change mine."
