Review: Dom is one of the New York based dealers for Rimadesio (an Italian glass door company). We were dealing with [redacted], one of the [redacted]'s at the Dom showroom. We placed an order with them for doors over 7 months ago (June 2013), and this order based on the assurance that the doors would be installed in August. In reliance of these delivery dates, we went ahead with the order and paid a 50% advance payment of $6265.75. After endless follow up from our side and long delays and several false assurances from them about delivery dates, we were finally informed that the doors had arrived in New York from Italy only at the end of November, 3/4 months later than expected. Under these delayed circumstances, which they admit and have apologized for, we were willing to accept the late delivery and scheduled a delivery date at the end of November. However at the last minute [redacted] refused the delivery/installation and started demanding the full remaining balance of 50%. He is now refusing to install the doors unless we pay the full amount. Of course, given the endless false assurances and unreliable dealings we have them thus far, as well the ridiculous delays and, we are not in a position to pay anything further as feel we may have already wasted the advance payment without any guarantee that we will actually get the doors. At this point, due to their proven lack of cooperation we cannot trust them any more and have asked them to either install the door ASAP or cancel the order and refund us the $6265.75, however have chosen to ignore our final email dated [redacted]Jan 2014. We are suffering from a loss in rent as we have been unable to rent out the apartment as a 2 bedroom without these doors (it is originally a 2 bedroom apartment). I will be attaching an email from my main contractor which confirms the above.Desired Settlement: Either a full refund of USD 6265.75, or immediate delivery and installation to our satisfaction, after which we will pay the remaining balance, after deduction of a appropriate delay penalty.
