New Jersey Lawn & Irrigation Reviews (8)

Review: This company came to open my Irrigation System and repair a leak in one of the lines. The said that the line was repaired and I paid their invoice. I had to call them a second time to repair the same section. The technician provided me with an invoice for the replaced parts only. The company billed me for the replacement parts and an additional service charge. When I questioned the bill, the company told me that the repair was to a different area. I paid the bill under protest. The same area of my Irrigation system is now leaking and has to be shut down for a third time. This company is clearly incompetent!!!Desired Settlement: The company should repair the Irrigation zone as was requested in my original service request. The poor business practices should also be on record so that other consumers do not experience the same theft that I have!!!

Review: Paid $85.00 March 3rd to have my sprinkler system opened on April 15th. April 14th I was given a time between 9:00am and 12:30. I had canceled a Dr. appointment on the 15th which was 11:30. One o:clock that afternoon they still had not arrived or called so I had to cancel due to other matters that day. Rebooked for Friday April 17th, was given a time of 3:00pm to 6:00pm. After waiting 3 hrs for them to show up I got a call at 6:10 to say the guy went home sick. OK, rebooked for Sunday April 19th between 9:00am and 12: noon. AGAIN waited no one showed up. At 12:50 I got a call saying they were running late (no kidding) due to the first appoint of the day which was a problem and they would be at my house in half hour or so. I was on my way out they door and told them forget it cancel this thing all together and send me my money back. Since then I have called every day speaking to a person named [redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund of $85.00.

Review: I was scheduled to have a fence installed on May 19, 2015. In order for this fence to be installed I also had to contract with a tree removal company to have numerous trees and shrubs removed. This other company requires a 24 hour notice for cancellation. On the Saturday before my scheduled install with NJ Lawn & Fence they called and stated that they couldn’t keep their apt. I explained that I would be charged by the other co. & was told by [redacted] that he would reduce the rate of my job. We then rescheduled for May 25, 2015. Again, NJ Fence & Lawn called & canceled the scheduled appt. & [redacted], who identified himself as the owner offered another $100 reduction for my inconvenience. Once the fence was installed I realized the lock was put on incorrectly and I called and notified them as well as reminded them about the promised price reductions. I was told via telephone by [redacted], that he would come out and check the fence out. To date, that still has not happened, they have failed to apply the promised discounts (did apply $100), failed to fix the lock on the fence and refuse to return my phone calls or emails.Desired Settlement: apply the promised credits and repair the lock on the fence

Review: I authorized a $25 repair to my sprinklers. The work was done and I paid the charge. Afterward the company determined that they had erred in quoting the price. They then sent me statements showing the unpaid balance. I returned them with letters of explanation. They offerd to compromise. I explained that they quoted the price and if they erred that was their responsibility. They sent the matter to a collection agent. I responded to the collection agent that I would not pay and would counter-sue for my time if they took me to court. Since then they continue to send me statements of account showing ever-increasing amounts of interest; the most recent one being dated February 11, 2015. I am concerned that they will report this inaccurate info to a credit reporting bureau and damage my credit rating.Desired Settlement: I would like NJ Best to adjust their records and provide me with a document indicating I have a zero balance. I also do not want them to contact me again after this matter is closed.

Review: I used to have great service. Made an appointment (6/8) they asked me if they could postpone for two days (6/10) later I said sure no problem as stuff happens. New appointment they set me up for they say between 5-7, I leave work early taking time off for no one to show. I call and complain they try to give me appointment 2 weeks later!!!!!! I say not acceptable. Finally get another appointment for 6/18/15, 5-7, I call at 4 to confirm appointment is still on since I must leave work. They say yes he will be there!!! 5:15 comes and I get a message stating my apt is cancelled. Go elsewhere for faster, less complicated service. THUMPS DOWN!!!! SPENT 6 HOURS OF TIME OFF, FIRST TIME I CAN UNDERSTAND SECOND TIME IS RIDICULOUS.Desired Settlement: I want the next appointment for sprinklers to be turned on and my PVB valve to be installed on a date convenient for me and at the cost of NJ lawn for missed hours of work. I called the second time to confirm apt (spoke to [redacted]) before leaving work and was completely misled.

Review: I cancelled the services for chemical application with NJ Best in April of this year {2014}. the company is still sending me bills to date for applications allegedly done after April of this year. They Claim I signed a contract with them back in 2008 with no expiration date, so they can keep billing me. I was not aware that a phone call was not enough, especially since I called them numerous times. I have not seen my contract in 6 years. At this point I feel like I am getting harassed. I finally had enough so I called the owner in [redacted] The owner was very nasty calling me a liar and won't send me a copy of my supposed contract and told me that due to the fact that I was so upset he is going to take us to court and charge us the full amount of the contract. I am a business owner myself and this is not how business is handled. They have very poor business ethics and it seems to me that this company likes to scam their long term customers.Desired Settlement: I want for them to stop billing me.

Review: I signed the initial contract 6/17/14. Since then I have signed multiple contracts because I made changes to my desired components. From that time on I had to send several emails to [redacted]nd calls to schedule my install because they already had my contract agreement. When they finally installed the fence I was not available to be home and they did not follow the specifications of the diagram and what I thought I was getting. When I got home I noticed the fence is a feet feet off from the location depicted in the diagram. I called the company to inform them that I was unhappy with the service and since the workers were still installing to move the fence, to adjust it. [redacted] the manager, said that it would cost $660 to move the fence. WHY???? Totally unjustified. In addition to that the fence was installed in front of the sprinkler and leaving the sprinkler head outside the fence. I was under the impression based on what the sales person [redacted] said that the company being that it is capable would have completed the service complimentary. More lies and deception. [redacted] clearly explained to me that he was not willing to offer that to me. So not only is one side of the fence off by a few feet, one of the gates is not a lattice top. Not what I asked for for the front of the fence. [redacted] always referred to the contract so I took a deep look at it.

Upon reviewing the contract and the bill I noticed that the company over charged me and did not apply my deposit. When I called about it, [redacted] did not have the most current copy of the contract and needed to investigate. WOW!!! In addition, the financing charges almost 3 weeks before the service was completed. He did respond with a solution of a check if I don't move the fence or it being applied if fence was moved. I emailed with questions after his workers left without a word and left a mess at my mailbox and have not heard a word for over a week.Desired Settlement: 1) Respond to my email and let me know why the wrong gate was installed. Install the gate I asked for.

2) Move the fence to the correct location at company cost. I am willing to pay half the cost of the $660 so I can get what I asked for.

Review: had sprinkler system installed at my house, job was not done properly.hoses are above ground in mANY SPOTS OF THE YARD AND [redacted]/GENERAL MANAGER REFUSES TO FIX . SECOND HE TELLS ME EVEN IF THE SYSTEM WAS WINTERIZED BY THEM AND WAS NOT USED TO MAINTAIN MY WARRANTY I MUST HAVE IT WINTERIZED EVERY YEAR EVEN IF IT IS NOT BEEN USED.WHICH IS B/S. SYSTEM NEVER HAD BEEN INSTALLED CORRECTLY BECAUSE NO ONE WAS HOME AND TO GET THEM TO FIX ANYTHING IS A JOKE. I HIGHLY DO NO RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE FOR 4000.00 COULD HAVE GOT ANYONE ELSE TO DO THE JOB. HOSES ARE ABOVE GROUND IN MANY PLACES, SPRINKLER HEADS NOT AIMED IN RIGHT DIRECTION AND MANY WATER NOTHING BUT MULCH. IF I DO NOT GET THIS FIXED ASAP WE WILL SEE THEM IN COURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Desired Settlement: FIX TO PROPER WORKING ORDER
