Well... I usually don't like to put my personal business out there, but being that this affects my children as well as myself, I figured it wouldn't hurt. So...my gas was turned off almost 3 weeks ago. My bill was a little over $700, I have been with NJNG for well over 20 years. My "x-husband" was police escorted out of my home two and a half months ago for domestic violence. I do work a full-time job, but unfortunately all of the money that I have been making has all had to go towards my rent. I explained my hardship and Misfortune to the representative at New Jersey Natural Gas, in the hopes that somehow someway, they would maybe just hold off a little bit from discontinuing my service, just to give me an opportunity to see about getting help from somewhere. Now, I must admit, I did not ask for help from the very beginning like I should have! Unfortunately, I fell into a very deep
depression and it really left me honestly incapable of following through with my responsibilities that I needed to take care of. I have been doing everything I can, filling out applications for help Etc I'm a little new at this, I have never had to get help before. Finally, last week I spoke to a representative from the Lakewood Resource Center by the name of devorah, who by the way is a very sweet, helpful and considerate woman! She was kind enough to email me a gift of warmth application, I emailed it back to her and she forwarded it to someone at New Jersey Natural Gas. So, now still waiting to hear back from someone. NOW...what really upset me, was the fact that I told them that I had two children, I told them of my hardship, I told them of what happened and they had no compassion or care in the world! Now I did read somewhere within a New Jersey Natural gas online article where it stated if you did have some sort of hardship or what have you that they would possibly take that into consideration in some way? So anyway, that is my complaint of the day 🤪 I mean I do have many many more LOL that's it's all I have to say 😊👍
