Regards,

As the owner of New Life Contracting which has been primarily built from years of customer referals, I take all complaints seriouslyI do apologize if the customer was advised to call *** Power if they wished to make a complaint and I will be speaking to the technician about that
comment. Being a gas furnace, this system did not qualify for the *** rebate program, however my technicians are advised to offer a full tune up of the furnace and AC for $or just the AC side of the system for $During the inspection the technician found and repaired a burnt high voltage wire to the common side of the capacitor due to a loose connectionHe also noted that the current current capacitor was double the size required by the manufacturerThe current capacitor is rated at 80/uf when the proper capicitor is a 45/ufThis alone will cause excessive heat in the compressor motor windings and premature failureIn addition, the technician noted that a return check up next summer should be scheduled as the system may have been slightly low on chargeGiven that the ac season is almost over and that the cooler temps and wet coil during due to the rainy weather and coil cleaning could cause a slight drip in pressure readings, he did not feel it necessary to charge the customer for refrigerant being added at that time. As for remidiation I am not able to honor the customers request for a full refund and costs of restoring his unit to "working" conditionThe technician made a wiring repair at no charge and recommended other repairsThe system was running at the time the technician left the job I would encourage the customer to contact me directly at *** to schedule a diagnostic appointment free of chargeIf his unit is not running due to any direct cause of my technician then I will personally make the repair at no cost to him. At the very least please obtain a licensed contractor to replace the capacitor with the correct sizeIt will lead to premature failure

Review: New Life contractor advertised on [redacted] for heat pump tune up involving [redacted] rebate offered. I went to [redacted] website and found a listing for the same company. Called and scheduled tune-up. I did not qualify for rebate but he offered me a system tuneup for 65 dollars. Did the tuneup on my AC that was working fine at that time and did not work after he left. I called back and he made excuses like he told it was not going to work and did not offer to fix. I asked for company contact info and he said where did you get my number. I said from [redacted] website. He said to call them. [redacted] says they just list company that accept the rebate. The website on the [redacted] mailing refers to a different phone number no longer in service. I started with a working AC to one that does not work after the tuneup. It makes no sense I would pay for a tuneup on a system that dont work.Desired Settlement: I want refund of all funds paid and cost of repairing my AC back to working condition. And the public to be warned not to be scammed like I was

Response:

As the owner of New Life Contracting which has been primarily built from 15 years of customer referals, I take all complaints seriously. I do apologize if the customer was advised to call [redacted] Power if they wished to make a complaint and I will be speaking to the technician about that comment. Being a gas furnace, this system did not qualify for the [redacted] rebate program, however my technicians are advised to offer a full tune up of the furnace and AC for $120 or just the AC side of the system for $65. During the inspection the technician found and repaired a burnt high voltage wire to the common side of the capacitor due to a loose connection. He also noted that the current current capacitor was double the size required by the manufacturer. The current capacitor is rated at 80/7.5 uf when the proper capicitor is a 45/7 uf. This alone will cause excessive heat in the compressor motor windings and premature failure. In addition, the technician noted that a return check up next summer should be scheduled as the system may have been slightly low on charge. Given that the ac season is almost over and that the cooler temps and wet coil during due to the rainy weather and coil cleaning could cause a slight drip in pressure readings, he did not feel it necessary to charge the customer for refrigerant being added at that time. As for remidiation I am not able to honor the customers request for a full refund and costs of restoring his unit to "working" condition. The technician made a wiring repair at no charge and recommended other repairs. The system was running at the time the technician left the job. I would encourage the customer to contact me directly at [redacted] to schedule a diagnostic appointment free of charge. If his unit is not running due to any direct cause of my technician then I will personally make the repair at no cost to him. At the very least please obtain a licensed contractor to replace the capacitor with the correct size. It will lead to premature failure.
