This letter refers to a complaint made against New Life Moving & Storage on 23 August 2014. Thank you for writing to let us know about your experience when working with the employees of this company. It is to our understanding that Mr. [redacted] was the person of contact for the client...

for the moving job. It was his responsibility to complete the job according to the customer's satisfaction and to receive payment at its completion. When the credit card was declined, Mr. [redacted] said it was okay to give payment within the next couple days. For many weeks, no payment was received for the moving services provided by New Life Moving & Storage. Mr. [redacted] attempted multiple times to contact the client within this time period to get the money owed. It was at this time that Mr. [redacted],the owner for New Life Moving & Storage, took over making the calls. Mr. [redacted] eventually ceased such frequent contact so as not to be harassing the client. The cost for services provided was $645.00. Mr.[redacted] and Mr. [redacted] have been given the 'run around' by the client with false promises of payments and excuses why the bill has yet to be paid. To this day, New Life Moving & Storage has yet to receive any payment.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This is a rebuttal response to [redacted]’s complaint against him.

[redacted] was present for the first move from our apt. to  a storage facility.  [redacted] did help pack a little bit, then he left, leaving 4 movers to complete the job.  The men were polite and worked well.  We did get some boxes from [redacted], and packed some ourselves and the men packed others.

The next move from the storage facility to our house was when we witnessed some of the guys drop some boxes, the metal bed frame, and a wooden book shelf.

ONLY 3 men worked on the 2nd move, Roger did not come that day.  The men were moving slower, it was almost like they were different men, but they were 3 of the original 4 men from the 1st move.

I moved my car from in front of their moving truck because they were moving slowly, and parked behind the truck hoping to get them moving like they did on the 1st move.  One of men dropped a box, I said to be careful, checked the box right then and there, but it only contained metal pins, and obviously they did not break.

Back at the house when they were unloading, they placed many of the boxes that were marked “FRAGILE” and “GLASS” and a couple marked “THIS END UP” in the garage upside down, placed other boxes on top of the “FRAGILE” and “GLASS” marked boxes, and didn’t seem to really care how they placed our many  boxes and other items inside our garage.

Moving in and out of our apartment on the first 1st move was NOT Difficult and Hazardous as [redacted] claims.  As I stated above, the men moved faster in and out of our apt., than they did in and out of the storage facility units.

All the broken items that came out of boxes were CLEARLY marked “FRAGILE, GLASS, and a couple THIS END UP”!!!    ALL of the items in these MARKED boxes were wrapped in bubble wrap, newspaper, or were packed in boxes with dividers that also had packing materials around each item!!

We saw the broken table that holds our tv tables, and showed it to the driver (either named [redacted] or [redacted]) and he wasn’t happy that we were going to file a complaint against Roger, and he offered to come back that weekend and fix the table holder himself, saying it only needed a plate and screw and he would take care of it.  We agreed to this because we didn’t want this man to possibly get in trouble  for the broken table holder.

We also saw the broken bottom (holder) of an artificial tree that we decorate for different holidays, and told the driver that we would fix it ourselves, NEVER dreaming that once we unpacked 300 boxes or more, we would discover so many broken things.

The driver NEVER showed up that weekend to fix the table holder as [redacted] is claiming, so I left [redacted] a voice mail that Sunday.  Not hearing from him, I left [redacted] 2 more voice mails the following Monday, but got no response from him.

I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com soon after.

And yes, [redacted] signed the invoice paper because the driver said he needed it signed, and [redacted] during this stressful time was trying to charge for 4 moving men for this 2nd move, when ONLY 3 men showed up.  We were going back and forth through the driver’s phone over the charges, and when I yelled into the phone that I was going to the Revdex.com, Roger quickly changed his tune about over charging us, and said to charge us for 8 hours at the rate of $115 per hour for 3 moving men, instead of the price he was trying to get from us, which was $135 per hour for 4 moving men.  That’s a difference of $160 he was trying to OVERCHARGE us!!!

We have pictures of the broken items, and some of the boxes they were packed in, and we are Holding onto the Broken Items for any later actions that may have to be taken by us!!

On the 1st move, [redacted] tried to OVERCHARGE us by 1 hour, because they arrived 1/2 hour late due to rain, which he said he “FORGOT” about, and he also “FORGOT” about the 1/2 lunch time his 4 movers took when they were NOT WORKING - how could [redacted] forget about deducting the time his own men take for lunch?!!!    AND, I also told the 4 men to take 40 - 45 minutes for lunch, knowing it’s very difficult to go and eat and get back in 1/2 hour - AND we gave EACH of the 4 moving men $5 dollars, being short on money at that time.  --  We pl[redacted]d to give the moving men each $10 for the 2nd move, but as they were moving slowing (all on level ground at the storage facility), and dropping stuff, there was no way we giving them a bonus!!!      We were very disappointed with their performance on the 2nd move, and even more disappointed and upset that [redacted] AGAIN tried to OVERHARGE us!!!

We are seeking that this complaint be on your web page for any and all other people to be aware of the difficulties we went through with the Pricing issues, trys at Overcharging us, and being RUSHED into signing the invoice from the driver from New Life Moving and Storage, run and possibly owned by [redacted].    -  [redacted]’s business card states that he’s Bonded and Insured, so he should take the responsibility of doing the right thing and taking care of his customer’s broken items - some of which can NOT be replaced!!

Truly Yours,

[redacted]

Time travel compensation was not charged even though the weather  influenced the length of the travel time. The length of loading and unloading the truck  is influenced  by the abil ity to get into and out of the apartment. Their service was great. Everything was put where I requested. They were on time and eventhough I couldn't move on the date I requested for closing issues with my home, my things were stored and everything was exactly how they put it in the truck. Their workers were courteous and helpful. Great company. Highly recommend them.

Review: I hired New Life Moving and Storage Company to move my household goods and store them until I was ready yo move into my house. The company damaged some of my items and also stole some of the items. When I asked them about the damaged/stole items I was told their insurance was contacted and they would repair or replace the items. To date they have not returned any of my phone calls to fix the problem. It haas been four months now.Desired Settlement: I want my money back or my items fixed and or replaced.

Review: I used company's moving services on 23 August 2014. I gave them a credit card payment which was declined because of divorce issue, I was unaware card had been cancelled. I explained this to [redacted], the only contact person I had for the company. He contacted me regarding this matter and I told him I would leave payment at my address on 29 August 2014, which I did. He said he was uncomfortable picking the money up, so I asked for his supervisor's contact information. He refused to give this to me. He continued to call and text me at all hours of the day and night, and has come to my home. He threatened to "call my commander". I am Civilian Contractor for the Air Force, I am not enlisted nor have never been. And this information I did not give to Mr. [redacted], so I do not know how he obtained it.

Today, 2 September, Mr. [redacted] contacted the liasion between my company and the Air Force (who happens to be a friend of mine) and said he was calling in reference to "SRA [redacted]." Obviously this gentlemen was confused because he does not know a SRA [redacted], but said [redacted] is a Civilian Contractor. Mr. [redacted] went into detail with this gentleman regarding the specifics of my debt to 'him' and he also threatened to 'call the police'. He did not contact my workplace but a third party giving details regarding a very personal matter. Even if he had contacted my supervisor, disclosing details regarding my debt is illegal. He was not confirming my employment, he was attempting to threaten my job, this is harassment.Desired Settlement: I will pay the debt owed to New Life Moving & Storage. This will be sent via money order on 5 September 2014, and it will be sent to the address on their business. I will not interact with Mr. [redacted] again.

Review: We moved temporarily to apt. till our house was ready. [redacted], owner of New Life Moving & Storage and 4 guys came late for the move due to heavy rain. Guys worked good until end of day when they started to drop boxes, bang walls/doors. End of day, [redacted] tried to charge us for 11 hrs. instead of 10. I reminded him what time they really arrived and the 30 min. lunch his 4 guys took - he then charged us for 10 hrs. plus boxes he didn't indicate we'd have to pay for. This occurred March 30, 2015. 2nd and worse offences occurred on April 14, 2015 when 3 movers (not 4 that we were expecting)came back to move the same household goods from temp. storage to our completed house. I sat in car while the 3 guys loaded 1 truck and unloaded it at the house - guys moving slower than 1st move. We went back for 2nd truck load and they were slower and knocked over a wooden book case and dropped metal bed frame. I moved my car and parked behind truck to encourage them to get busy - one later dropped a box that I checked - nothing broken in that box. Very poor performance on 2nd move. Worst was later when [redacted] tried to charge us the hourly rate for 4 movers of $135 per hr., we said no, then he tried to charge us $125 per hr. for 3 movers, we said no and read him his own printed flyer which stated he charged $115 per hr. for up to 3 movers. Then he tried to charge us for 1 hr. travel time not mentioned before and which we did NOT pay for the 1st move. When we threatened to contact Revdex.com, he changed his tune, and charged us the correct price of $115 per hr. Yesterday,4/19/2015 we found 2 broken mugs from other states, 1 especially handmade ceramic mug, 1 other broken - a broken artificial holiday tree, tv tray table/holder and we haven't nearly finished unpacking. I left [redacted] voicemail yesterday, and left 2 voicemails this morning (4/20/2015)no response, but he was quick to call us back when making all moving arrangements. We are afraid [redacted] will never call us back to file a claim.Desired Settlement: We want compensated for ALL our broken items but how do we replace mugs from Ellis Island, New York and Seattle, Washington, and the one mug that was especially handmade as a gift for the other homeowner. We still are in the process of unpacking many, many boxes, and fear we have more broken items. We are taking pictures of all our broken items, and also have pictures showing we clearly marked our glassware and fragile items stating Fragile and Glass on the boxes.
