Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Regards,
*** ***The response is just another smokescreen by a sham businessPlease make certain my complaint is made public as it may save others from predatory practicesThe ONLY concern that this company had was to obtain my families money ( by any means necessary even when it was clear that you could not afford the services ) and virtually EVERY document you sign protects THEIR right to YOUR money regardless of the shabby substandard "treatment" offered. Buyer bewareIf you too get ripped off, don't say you weren't warned

Payment was made in full by my mom on her credit cardsPayment was split between two cardsMy mom signed no paper work or contracts besides authorizing the credit card payments. At this point we DID receive a letter that I completed a detox portion of the program so that part of my complaint
has been resolved.Thank you for your help. *** ***

The Program turned out to be a complete sham of its advertised purpose and what was presented on intake ( for the benefit of deluding my mom )She put her faith in an organization with religious coand fell for their deceptive advertising followed by an equally deceptive reception at their facilityThe documents signed were CLEARLY intended to do one thing and one thing ONLYTo get their hands in cash and keep their hands on the cash at any and all expense. Even during these Revdex.com proceedings that chose to stonewall the Revdex.com by having me jump through imaginary hoops claiming my first release was invalid and forcing to prolong this process by obtaining a notorized documentThe first release was sent to me, SECURE and password protected, so there was no doubt it's return contained by signatureJust another roadblock to put in front of myself ( the public ) and the Revdex.com. The basic plan once my money was secure was to cut off any contact with my family ( they first confiscated my iPad and when persuaded to return it to me by my dad, they then refused to allow my access to the WiFi password )This kept me a virtual prisoner only able to use their phone ( which was "monitored" by house attendant. The business uses religion to lure desperate families and should be reported to California licensing authoritiesThat will be the next step if the Revdex.com route fails to resolve this matter. I thank you again for your time and efforts protecting the public from fraud and deceptive practices. *** ***

Revdex.com,We have, in good faith, put forth an extended effort
to resolve this situation.  The total cost
was discounted by excusing an unpaid balance and a significant refund was
given.  This was willingly done on our
part before any false accusations were made to the Revdex.com.  We believe we’ve been more than fair.  Please contact us
if anything additional is needed.Thank you for all your help.[redacted]

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share our perspective and defend the statements and accusations madeagainst our organization. From our inception, we have never had such a complaint as the overwhelmingly majority of ourclients will report an atmosphere of accountability that fosters the opportunity to learn to love God, self and others withsafe boundaries. We will do as much as we can to demonstrate the sincerity of our program, the policies we have inplace and the actual services we provide in light of what this client proposed. It’s important to state that we advertiseourselves as a Christian program, and everything on our website conveys with distinct clarity the belief systems thatdrive what we do. It would be impossible to be confused about the fact that Christianity, including Bible studies, classesand church are at the heart of this program. Furthermore, we assess each person to make sure they are comfortablewith our belief systems so we match their needs and expectations. We understand that a client that would be offended orin disagreement would not be a good match for us or for other clients seeking a Christian point of view. Mr. [redacted] knewthis from day one, and stated in paperwork (as included) that he desired a Biblical, Christian perspective, and was inagreement with this approach, along with all the requirements of the program itself.A treatment program that doesn’t hold a client accountable has no right to be in this business. Structured accountabilityin a treatment environment is the essential nature of the product we advertise and use. Without it, chaos would quicklyerupt as everyone would be allowed to run their own program and decide what to attend, and what to skip. Our loving, structured approach has worked wonderfully and is attested to by hundreds and hundreds of other clients. We areterribly sorry that Mr. [redacted] doesn’t share that point of view, but in this letter we will show the way we truly tried to be fairand to uphold our signed agreement. We went above and beyond our responsibility to meet this family without becomingenablers.Thank you for getting a proper HIPPA release of confidential information from Mr. [redacted] so we can bring clarity to theaccusations made against us. Since there are a few, I will address each one in the order they follow in the complaint. Iwill also include sections of our contracts and agreements that support our defense. Additionally, I will provide copies of Mr. [redacted]’s original signed agreement but ask that you not post those documents on your website as we believe HIPPAwould not allow it.It is important that we start with, and make clear, the fact that during the complete intake process, both [redacted] andhis mother were present, and both reviewed the intake paperwork as [redacted] initialed, dated and signed each document.Complaint Part #1: “We contacted New Life Spirit Recovery and were made comfortable knowing that I wouldhave two separate regiments to my treatment.”Response to Complaint Part # 1: Mr. [redacted]’s statement is not true. He was made fully aware that what he requestedwas a package that included up to five days in detox and thirty days of treatment. Page 3 of the contract he signspecifically states: “I understand that my up to five day detox choice is no longer a stand-alone option, but hasnow become part of my overall treatment package.” This couldn’t be clearer.Complaint Part #2: “I was threatened DAILY with expulsion from the Program if I did not agree to beingforcefed religion and group prayer.”Response to Complaint Part # 2: This is untrue. There is quite a difference between being held accountable andbeing force fed religion. The agreement Mr. [redacted] signed upon entry specifically states we are a Christian program andlists all the types of classes and groups he would be expected to attend. Before Mr. [redacted] entered the program, heinitialed each area of the agreement committing to fully participate. It was his responsibility to stick to his agreement andour responsibility to hold him accountable to it. He was held accountable, just as everyone else that enters program is.In over ten years of operation, with much of the same staff on board, we have never before been accused of suchtactics. There is a difference between the word he uses “threatened” and what really transpired. He was warned that hewould be discharged from program if he didn’t conform to his agreement and participate in what he signed up for. In thefollowing two paragraphs, we have highlighted and underlined parts of the intake agreement that specifically addresswhat was agreed:Page 1 of the “CLIENT’s ADMISSION AGREEMENT” states the following:_____ The services I can expect from New Life Spirit Recovery and agree to participate in may include but not belimited to the following:1. Substance Abuse Counseling2. Codependency & Family Classes3. Group Sessions4. Alcohol & Drug Education Courses5. Life Skills6. Relapse Prevention7. Anger Management (if applicable)8. Domestic Violence (if applicable)9. Nutrition Class10. Christian Bible studies11. Christian church services Page 2 of the “CLIENT’s ADMISSION AGREEMENT” states the following:_____ I. My treatment at NLSR may be terminated if any of the following exist:1. I use or possess drugs, paraphernalia, or alcohol on the premises.2. I violate the total abstinence condition.3. Violent acts or threats of violence against staff, clients, self or another person.4. Failure to adhere to treatment plans regarding attendance, compliance, sobriety and writtenassignments.5. Failure to submit to a UA (submit a urine sample) or BAC (Alcohol Breathalyzer) test immediatelywhen requested.6. Failure (one positive reading) of one UA or BAC test.7. I seize another’s property without permission or damaged property belonging to NLSR, staff, oranother client.Mr. [redacted] was choosing to resist and not participate as agreed and was warned that he would be discharged fromprogram if he didn’t adhere to what he signed up for.Complaint Part #3: New Life DID refund my mom $3000 ( I'm sure they know they deceived her ) so I am onlylooking to get back an additional $ 2,366.68.Response to Complaint Part #3: According to the admission agreement, Mr. [redacted] was not entitled to any refund if hechose to leave the program. But in good faith, we chose to refund a generous portion anyway.Page 2 of the “Financial Admission Agreement” clearly states the facility REFUND POLICY in LARGE font thatwas initialed, dated and signed by Mr. [redacted] before he entered the program. It is as follows:“REFUND POLICY______Fees for NEW LIFE SPIRIT RECOVERY, INC. programs are one time, comprehensive fees, and are nonrefundablein the event I leave or I am discharged from program prior to completion.”Again, Mr. [redacted] was not entitled to a refund but was, in good faith, refunded a generous portion anyway. Complaint Part #4: I also DESERVE a letter indicating a successful completion of the DETOX portion of theProgram. Anything less is simply vindictive.Response to Complaint Part #4: This was provided as requested. A letter was sent to Mr. [redacted] shortly after he leftthe program as requested and we are confident it was received because his mother responded with a thank you note.(both a copy of the letter and his mother’s email response will accompany this letter)Supporting Documents:? Financial Admission Agreement? Client’s Admission Agreement? Copy of the requested letter regarding detox? Copy of the refund receipt? Copy of the mother’s email response confirming the letter was received and she was pleasedPlease note: The client’s mother [redacted], the person who actually paid for [redacted]’s program received her partial refundon June 2nd, (which was a $3000 refund and a $900 discount) and the letter they requested on June 9th. You can see byher email response (included with this letter) on June 10th that they were received and [redacted] was pleased. The lastcommunication our facility had with this family was with [redacted] via email on June 10, 2015 thanking us.Again, we are requesting that you not release the included supporting documents we are providing for public view.Regardless to having a release, we’re still concerned that making this information available for public view may violateHIPPA restrictions. Thank you for understanding the potential risks involved and the seriousness of our concern. It is our belief that we went above and beyond our contractual responsibility to resolve this complaint and hope, allconsidered, that you will not allow it to affect our Revdex.com rating. Thank you for all your help.Any additional advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated.Sincerely,NEW LIFE SPIRIT RECOVERY, INC.[redacted], PHD.DMin, MCA, CAODC-CS, NCAC1, FACAddictions SpecialistExecutive Director
