Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/05/10) */ In response to the complaint: This case has been closed since April of when we set up a resolution for back taxes owedThe clients were made aware that the case was placed on a non-collectible status with the IRS and that the case had been resolved Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2016/05/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Cause the IRS took refund after we was told it was resolved

This client hired New Life Tax Relief to prepare tax returns for 2011-Upon a compliance call with the IRS we realized the client also owed back taxes for & 2010. We prepared all returns that the IRS required and sent to the client for signaturesThe client signed the returns
and they were mailed to the appropriate department within the IRSOnce the returns were accepted our enrolled agent set up a payment plan with the IRS on 7/23/The client was aware that he had balances although he didn't understand why he owed the IRSWe explained that he was being paid as an independent contractor for many of these years and was subject to self employment tax and for the years that he was an employee not enough withholdings were taken outWe set up a plan on years 2009-2014.His first payment was due on 8/28/We completed our contracted obligation with the client and set up a resolution for the back taxes that he owed

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/05/19) */
His case been closed since 12/14/and he was asking for his tax return which we mailed to him last year but it seems like he never got it, we spoke to Mr*** this morning and emailed him a copy of taxes

I am rejecting this response because:I chose this company to receive help on back taxes, and or the elimination or help with the failure to file penalties as advertisedThe only thing that New Tax Life has helped me with was file my taxesI could have saved half the money I paid, if that were itOf course, as an individual not well versed in taxes, I was very confused and needed direction and help with my back taxesI would accept New Tax Life, looking into my taxes once more, and helping resolve past issues, once and for all, and I would consider this case closed, as an alternativeThere has to be a way to solve this issue, as I still owe a few thousand dollars, and would consider hiring someone else to look at my taxes, and what has been doneEither help from New Tax Life, or some sort of a refund to find a new tax lawyer

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/10/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
J have tried multiple times to contact them and have left numerous requests for a call back which they have not done in months

In March of we filed an Offer in Compromise for this client which was a settlement to reduce the amount that she owed the IRS.It takes between to months for the offer to be acceptedIn September of we got a call from the client that stated she had filed for bankruptcy. You
cannot both file for bankruptcy and have an Offer in Compromise pending with the IRSThe IRS sent her back the settlement offer and let her know that she had to wait for her bankruptcy to be discharged. We did the work for this client and will not be refunding her as a result of something else that she decided to do

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/05/10) */
In response to the complaint: This case has been closed since April of 2015 when we set up a resolution for back taxes owed. The clients were made aware that the case was placed on a non-collectible status with the IRS and that the case had been...

resolved.

Cause the IRS took refund after we was told it was resolved.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2015/10/21) */
We spoke to the client on 9/28/2015 in regards to her concerns about not being able to get through to our company.
The client was using a number that we no longer have instead of our customer service line. The number that she was using was...

only for new clients seeking assistance with their tax matters. Since we are no longer taking on any new clients or advertising any new business we no longer have use for that phone number or our website. She was given the correct number to call regarding her case and was given an update as to what we were waiting on to move forward and resolve her case. To this day we still have not received the necessary information to complete and close her case.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 14, 2015/10/21) */
I have gotten a response from the business. They contracted me to resolve the matter.

Our company represented client for both Federal and State Tax issues. There seemed to be a lot of confusion with the client about...

the two separate entities. The client said multiple times that he thought they were the same agency or that the balances could be consolidated into one agency. We explained that was not possible and he owed each agency separately. We set up installment agreements for both [redacted] and [redacted] which the client signed and agreed too. We completed several returns for the client and even obtained withholding and W2 information from the State in order to do the tax returns. The returns we completed were 2002, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. When we prepare the returns we give the clients the appropriate information as to where to mail the returns. We set up an installment for the [redacted] on April 1st 2015 which was to begin on May 17th 2015 which wouldn't have been possible if the [redacted] was missing any returns as it is a condition of theirs to have all returns filed before setting up a payment agreement. The client called and informed us that he was being audited for 2014 which was not prepared by our company. He handled that audit himself and any levies or any broken installments as a result of additional taxes owed we were not responsible. The [redacted] installment was set up on 6/19/2015. We feel as though we completed our agreement by preparing and filing his back taxes and setting up installments for both the [redacted] and the [redacted]
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 13, 2015/10/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There seemed to be a lot of confusion with the client about the two separate entities because of the information that was being told to me. I gave all paperwork to them and they told me that it was [redacted] and I didn't owe [redacted]. Yes, you claimed that we settled an agreement for $4,000 less than the paperwork that I was getting in the mail. When I kept trying to call, you said that it takes time. I never received that $5,000 aggreement and when I contact the [redacted] myself, I was told that 2012 was not completed.
And in your responce, years 2002, 2003, and 2006 WERE NOT COMPLETED by your company. I have an email sent that says: "Attached you will find your tax returns for XXXX - XXXX."
There was NO [redacted] agreement set up on 6/19/15. That is absolutely false. I set up with the [redacted] personally. I had to set it up myself with the [redacted] and have proof that I contacted them myself and set up an installment agreement. And I am still working things out with the [redacted] MYSELF, with several months of no answers and no return phone calls or emails.
There was no installment agreements set up for [redacted] or [redacted]. And you did not file all the tax returns as you claim to. You did not protect me from levy's and you did not make an agreement settlement. I am not satisfied with this. I would call but you do not return calls or emails once you have taken peoples money.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/02/16) */
We completed returns for tax years 2012-2014. We are currently waiting on the client to send us back 2014 tax return so we can move forward with resolving his back tax liability for other years that he owes for. Not sure who the client is...

emailing that is not getting back to him but we would love to be able to finish resolving his case and will be following up with him regarding the information we need to be able to move forward.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/02/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Their representative has failed to get back with me on certain deductions to complete the 2014 income tax because their representative put down my wrong SS number on my returns therefore I have been waiting for them to get back with me so they can adjust that and they have failed to do so and they won't answer their phones they will return my phone calls. I have faxed all information to them pertaining to my 2014 taxes they just didn't itemize everything I sent them.

On Thursday April 16th 2015 the enrolled agent assigned to this client's case placed him on a non collectible status. This status meant that the client was in a financial hardship and was not able to make payments on his tax debt. The IRS informed us that if the client wanted to file 2012 and 2013 he...

could file or they would file for him but it would not affect his non collectible status. As of April 16th this case was closed as we did our part and resolved his active collection status with the IRS.If the client owes additional taxes for other years, we are not responsible for putting those years in a non collectible status. The non collectible status could have also defaulted if the client's financial status changed. We will be more than happy to discuss any concerns or questions the client has if he contacts usat ###-###-####

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2016/07/26) */
This case has been resolved since March 23rd 2015. We placed this client on a payment plan with the IRS which the client had previously agreed too. We also mailed out penalty abatement forms to the client via mail with instructions on how to...

mail them to the IRS. The client was made aware of this and had several conversations with our office of this installment agreement with the IRS. Any additional tax liability or questions the client has regarding his case cannot be addressed through our office since we closed this case over a year ago.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2016/07/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They payment plant was for the same amount that I owe the IRS . No deductions of penalties or settlement . Why would I accept a payment plant for the amount that I owe the irs with out any deduction . Doesn't make much sense . I wanted I payment plant or settlement for an amount less that I owe them . Not for the same amount plus what I pay new life . I ended up on the losing end . Change my case worker multiple times .
