Mr [redacted] refused to pay his subcontractor for work completed and left the contract unfinished, with money in hand. Mr [redacted] failed to fulfil contract or obligations, failed to remediate when requested and has avoided contact with ourselves and his sub contractor whom fulfilled their installation contract. Mr [redacted] instructed his sub contractor to install the floor as a floating floor after confirming with myself (and including in his estimate) that the floor would be glued, not floating.Mr [redacted] has not returned to complete or discuss any actions, nor has he responded to our request for communication.Product_Or_Service: Removal and installation of flooring, Doorways etcAccount_Number: Estimate #XXXXXX, VaDesired SettlementWe would like [redacted] to refund all amounts paid ($5949.00) minus those for which receipts have been provided (Flooring Materials value $2320.00) and pay remediation costs including, (but not limited to), removal, reinstallation, clean up and finishing of all items on estimate given.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Supervisor Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@icloud.comThey wanted the floor floating with minimal seam glue and refused to pay for glue because client was broke and wasn't able to meet the deductible. I have images of our conversations about the matter in detail recorded. Consumer Response From the response given, it seems clear there is no intent or desire to remediate the issue presented. The business owner is not willing to pursue corrective action or consider any solution proposed. This issue will therefore be taken for remediation measures via other means. Whilst disappointing, the failure to fulfill the contract and pay the subcontractor what was due will no doubt reflect the wholly unsatisfactory nature of the business practices of this individual. As for the statement made "because the client was broke" - this is of no importance and certainly none of Mr [redacted]' business - he was hired to complete a contract and when informed the contract was incomplete and needed remediation, he left the job with our insurance money and has made no attempt to pay the flooring subcontractor or refund any part of the insurance payment.Final Business Response See you in court when you try to scam a contractor to get more fixed then was initially damaged and attempt to defraud insurance companies and refuse to pay the full deductible and glue costs whether due to your wife's copd or you're just "broke" then don't complain about the floor being unsatisfactory glued
