Review: 2004 [redacted] purchased well above Kelly Blue Book value on 5/24/13.
* 3 month warranty promised upon purchase per binder document. Warranty covers power train.
Waited 3 weeks, no warranty. Owner hearing a noise in the back at highway speed.
* 6/21/13 by road-test, licensed mechanic identified issues w/vehicle needing repair. Notified
dealer. Warranty--dealer said got cancelled check. Owner calling warranty company.
* 7/01/13 warranty co. rejected application by dealer (purchase date missing). When sent in?
* 7/08/13 re-inspection w/dealer by road-test to reapply for warranty. Dealer would not take
vehicle up on highway (higher speed). Dealer passed inspection, owner refused due to noise.
* 8/02/13 without warranty, brought to 3rd party, agreed upon, [redacted] Dealership for a road-test
evaluation of noise, etc. [redacted] had same findings as 6/21/13, gave VERBAL approx. estimate.
* 8/12/13 with dealer's awareness and acceptance to continue (dealer would commit to 1/2 expense
on rear differential)...[redacted] Dealership did break-down to evaluate for rebuild.
* 8/13/13 after breakdown, [redacted] provided better estimate on rear differential and drive shaft
pinion seal leaking. Owner asked to review brakes--rotors rusted require replacement,
emerg brake needed repair (told brake work safety issue would have been present at sale).
* 8/14/13 notified dealer (and DMV) of all work estimate...dealer refused to pay additional
costs above the 1/2 of VERBAL estimate on rear differential only (about $500).
* 8/16/13 [redacted] Dealership completed repairs. Continued w/repairs because jeep disassembled.
Brakes done because safety issue. Final customer cost---about $2700.
[redacted] still at [redacted] Dealership lot after repair.
Revdex.com---Need third party to input on who pays the cost of repairs..."power train" and brakes.
Product_Or_Service: power train issue repair, brake rotors, emerg brakeDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)
[redacted] still at [redacted] Dealership that completed repair on 8/16/13. Final invoice not given to Used Dealership yet. Repair is high for rear differential...includes drive shaft pinion seal, brake rotors and emerg brake. All are replacement items, could not be "adjusted fixed" by any mechanic. Used dealer did suggest rebuild of rear diff by [redacted]. No warranty for power train items...brake items safety issue (SOLD that way). Want dealer to pay bill, at his rate.
