Complaint:
Reopen complaint due to the business not honoring their word.When I originally filed a complaint against Home Works I was notified by *** *** He came to my house and assured me that he would make everything right with my house He apologized for the mess and the damages caused by the subcontractor they had hired He told me what it would take to get the job done He said I had to have my kitchen floor taken out because of the rotten wood and my hall way I hired a granite man to take out my granite then I hired a construction crew to remove my cabinets and the floor He also told me that it would take days with the new crew he was bringing in to get my house finished The floor was ripped out on 07/13/ *** looked at my other floors jumped up and down on them and said they seemed good A few days later *** *** is telling my husband the bedroom floor and the main bathroom floor has to be pulled up too This whole time we have no AC The levelers pulled the boxes where the duct vents connect and completely destroyed my duct work I was visiting grandchildren in Arkansas since I couldn't stay at my house when I come home The house is worse than it was when I left My bathroom cabinets wont stay shut unless I put something in front of them I will send you pictures of the cracks Then Mark *** told me that he could not level my daughters room because it was connected to the one room that is on slab He said they would not replace the joist that were still needed because this job has become an expense to them I told him I no longer wanted to deal with him I would talk with *** his father Well I waited for *** and to my surprise he said they were pulling out of the contract He did say he would refund my money and pay for damages I had an ac guy out today and he said he wouldn't touch the duct work for under $8000.00, he said it would need to be pulled out and completely replaced I am having trouble getting another leveler due to the way they left my home I can't live in my home I have a special needs granddaughter that is having more and more seizures due to the stress of no stabilized environment I don't know what to do I trusted what *** *** told me, for a minute I saw a light at the end of the tunnel and now I'm lost I will forward pictures By the way we pulled the floor in the bathroom as asked and now we have a house with no floor and no levelers to complete the job Thanks Mr ***

To Whom It May Concern: We contacted Mrs. [redacted] on June 21st and met with her to go over her concerns. Mrs. [redacted] pointed out her concerns and we made an agreement in the actions needed to correct/finish the job. We proposed to install a drain line for her outside A/C unit via a...
3” Sch 40 pipe to get the A/C water away from her house. Thus eliminating water accumulating near & under her foundation. This was completed today. We pumped water from under her house as to better assess what was going on in her kitchen. Upon closer inspection under the house it has been determined that her kitchen, part of her hall, bathroom and 1 bedroom had extensive rot of the sub floor. This rot has been covered up twice by previous owners. The floor has 1: sub floor (pine 1 X 4’s), followed by 2: ¾ plywood (grade undetermined), and on top of that 3/8th “ plywood covered with vinyl tiles. I spoke with Mrs. [redacted] on the phone and we will be meeting this afternoon on the best course of action in order for her to have a structurally sound foundation and floor. The A/C for this house is located below the floor. This is not standard practice in Air Conditioning a house on pier and beam. In my opinion this has created a situation where there will be water under the house most of the time. This in itself presents a “no win” situation for the floors nor the foundation.
